When a Soulknife manifests a mind blade as two identical short swords, and then empowers mind blade with a psychic strike, which of the following takes place?

1) With one move action, one of the mind blades is empowered, and remains empowered until discharged. The other blade cannot be used to make a psychic strike while the first blade remains charged.

2) With one move action, one mind blade is empowered, and remains empowered until discharged. A second move action can be used to charge the other mind blade, which also remains empowered until it is discharged.

3) With one move action, both mind blades are empowered, and both remain empowered until either one strikes (at which point both discharge).

4) With one move action, both mind blades are empowered. Each mind blades remains empowered until individually discharged.

If I recall correctly (someone please correct me, if I'm wrong) - option 2 is correct.

I would say 2) as well.

A quick check in the SRD... gives me nothing more than:
Even if the soulknife drops the mind blade (or it otherwise dissipates, such as when it is thrown and misses), it is still imbued with psychic energy when the soulknife next materializes it.

which rules your 3th option out

4th is overpowered so I would discard it as well

your 1st option bugs me though. 'cause it could be logical...

sorry to be of so little help :(

Complete Psionic says that option 2) is correct.

Hello, everyone! ^_^

Complete Psionic says that option 2) is correct.

That's correct. See the sidebar on page 56:

DUAL MIND BLADES AND PSYCHIC STRIKE
If a soulknife chooses to shape his mind blade by splitting it into two blades, each separate blade is able to hold a psychic strike as long as the soulknife spends a separate move action to empower each blade with psychic strike.

And incidentally this was covered in the FAQ at the top of the forum, but not explicitly -- it was covered in "what changed with complete psionic."

Thank you, that is also how I read it. I never would have found it in the FAQ, though.
