Using psychic chirurgery to teach psicrystal? [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-11-07, 08:05 AM could you use psychic chirurgery to teach a psicrystal powers after the psicrystal has gained psicrystal power(or taken the hidden talent feat)?

if so then couldn't you psychic reform the powers away, and still have access to them by making contact with the psicrystal?

then could you use psychic chirugery to teach psychic chirurgery to the psicrystal(assuming you taught it a 9th level power)? then couldn't the psicrystal use PC to reteach you the power after you PR it away? Then it could also take expanded knowledge and teach itsself new powers and PC them to you. If it learned PR it could just keep using PR and PC and EK to teach you every 8th level and lower power, for only 9k xp to teach your psicrystal PC, and maybe a few more to PR it's feat choices.

can psicrystal cast xp component powers? i know that they cannot learn them through psicrystal power, but can they cast them?

10-12-07, 09:26 AM I would imagine that as the psicrystal is part of your mind, you'd be the one paying the xp cost.

Also, IIRC, the psi crystal doesn't have any manifester levels, so without the epic feat that allows you to teach the psi crystal powers, you couldn't teach the lil rock anything anyway.

You'd probably be better reforming rock affinity for leadership, picking a erudite and going from there.

Erudite, for the low price of 20xp per...what was it? manifester level? or was it power level? it's not that bad considering it's the only psy class that isn't limited in pwoers known.

10-15-07, 03:57 AM Yes, but knowing all those powers, while great, is slightly stunted by only being able to use at most, only 10 of them each day.
