Assuming there isn't one already out there someplace, does anyone have any thoughts on adapting either Eldritch Disciple (warlock / divine caster) or Eldritch Theurge (warlock / arcane caster), both from Complete Mage, to cover psionics instead?

07-06-07, 03:04 PM They got the names backwards. Totally mixed up. It's terrible. A theurge is a person who intermediates between the divine and the earthly - a priest. Disciple is just another way to say student, and how do wizards gain their spells if not through study?

The Eldritch Theurge should be the divine/warlock class. The Eldritch Disciple should be the arcane/warlock class.

I mean, I already knew that WotC doesn't exactly enforce proper use of the English language, but the naming of those classes is still a stunning display of ignorance.

ANYWAY

Eldritch Theurge should work just fine for psion/warlocks. Just replace the word "spell" with "power," "cast" with "manifest," and so on. Instead of "+1 level of existing arcane spellcasting class" you get "+1 level of existing psionic manifesting class."

None of the class abilities play around with any part of the magic system which isn't also present in psionics. For example, when you get Eldritch Spellweave ("Eldritch Powerweave"), you can apply hellrime blast only to a power of 4th level or higher.
