Warlock/Psionic combination? [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-06-07, 02:48 PM This isn't a PrC or build really, but many people like to play a minimally psionic warlock (e.g., a warlock with wild talent, or a Xeph warlock), and take psionic shot, psionic meditation, and greater psionic shot. At level 3, with psionic shot and psionic meditation, a "full attack" of psionic focus (move) and eldritch blast (standard) does 4d6 damage instead of 2d6 -- not bad. At level 9, with greater psionic shot, it does 9d6 instead of 5d6. Sure, you're blowing three feats on it, or four if you're not playing a psionic race, but it could be worth it. It's not an obviously optimal "gimme," but it's a decent choice.

If you were looking for a more comprehensive combination between warlocks and psionics than just a bit of feat-dipping, then my apologies for not offering more in that direction.

07-06-07, 03:26 PM If you're going for somewhat of a combat orientated Warlock, you could try dipping a few levels of Psychic Warrior. Use the bonus feats help you through the trick JulesCARV mentioned, and use the excellent self-buffs to make yourself a melee monster.

You could take expansion, claws of the beast, thicken skin, and bite of the wolf and literally be a scaly 12 foot tall monster with huge fangs and deadly claws! Talk about getting in touch with your fiendish heratige!

However, there are many good Psychic Warrior powers that fit other themes and combat styles as well. You could aim your blasts by seeing into the future, with offensive precognition and offensive prescience. You could buff your important Cha and Dex with animal affinity. You could shrink yourself to halfling size (or cat-size if you're already as small as a halfling) with compression, to give yourself an edge with your ranged attack rolls (+2 dex and +1 size bonus to hit).

As for prestige classes, it's easy as pie to convert Eldritch Theurge to psionics.

07-06-07, 09:12 PM Thanks for the input, i'll mess around with a few warlock/psywar and warlock/psion playtests and see what i can come up with, maybe homebrew a prc thats invocation/manifester.
