Ways to attack an enemy without being hit? [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-06-07, 12:59 AM Ways to attack an enemy without being hit?

For example being invisible then summoning monsters.

Summoning a bunch of Elemental stewards as meat shields.

One I havent tried is becoming gaseous, I wonder if powers still work?

Can anyone think of ways to attack, while you stay out of harms way?

07-06-07, 01:06 AM Temporal Acceleration- Delayed blast energy balls, then teleport from a distance far enough where you will not be seen, but can still enjoy the fireworks:D

07-06-07, 01:14 AM Stand in the next room, send your psicrystal over (you must have the sight link ability) or use Clairvoyant Sense to target and fire away with Burrowing Power. Nothing like having full cover due to a solid wall. If you use area effects like Energy Ball then you really don't need to worry about targeting. In that case, just hope you don't do enough damage to the wall itself to blow through and accedentally include yourself in the area.

Just use cold balls. Cold damage against objects is quartered, before hardness. It'll take a while to blast through even a fairly thin wall at that rate.

Or, have a small (or smaller) sized character, hide in a companion's Heward's Handy Haversack, then blast through your psicrystal. Note that you must have the Channel Power ability for this to work. If you're not yet 15th level, just get lots of the Improved Psicrystal feat. This works whether you're an egoist and have your psicrystal metamorphosis into a dire lion, or you blast using energy balls. For best effect, make sure your friend (the one with the Haversack) has evasion. And uncanny dodge. And a high initiative modifier. And a high movement speed. Heh. Since the psicrystal keeps its psicrystal abilities while under the effects of metamorphosis, it should retain its hardness, flight abilities, and you should continue to be able to blast through it, buff it, and so on. :)
