As far as I can tell you can add an Augment Crystal (MIC) to a Mind Blade. Anyone have problems with that?

A Mind Blade is not an actual weapon and can't hold an Augment Crystal, neither can a Flame Blade, or the Pyrokineticist's Flame Lash. The Soulknife's Mind Blade is already balanced with abilities that can be added as you go up in levels... it's a class ability more than a piece of equipment.

A mind blade acts in all ways like a short sword. That would mean that you can attack a augment crytsal, but you have to do so each time you form your blade.

I guess I should have quoted the rules.
Mind Blade (Su): As a move action, a soulknife can create a semisolid blade composed of psychic energy distilled from his own mind. The blade is identical in all ways (except visually) to a short sword of a size appropriate for its wielder. For instance, a Medium soulknife materializes a Medium mind blade that he can wield as a light weapon, and the blade deals 1d6 points of damage (crit 19-20/x2). Soulknives who are smaller or larger than Medium create mind blades identical to short swords appropriate for their size, with a corresponding change to the blade’s damage. The wielder of a mind blade gains the usual benefits to his attack roll and damage roll from a high Strength bonus.
The blade can be broken (it has hardness 10 and 10 hit points); however, a soulknife can simply create another on his next move action. The moment he relinquishes his grip on his blade, it dissipates (unless he intends to throw it; see below). A mind blade is considered a magic weapon for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.
...

As such, it seems to be an object, or more precisely a weapon. Flame Blades are immaterial. The Pyrokineticist's Flame Lash is "a 15-foot-long whip of fire" which a DM would easily also deem immaterial.

Weapon augment crystals are designed to add flexibility to any weapon, even ones which already have weapon special abilities. I think it's perfectly valid to apply an augment crystal to a soulknife's mind blade. It's just as balanced to use them with mind blades as with any other weapon.

I'd rule you'd either have to attach it every time the mind blade was manifested or that you have to have a crystal hilt.

House Rule: Augment Crystals that are housed in a Glove of Crystal Storing can be applied to mindblades manifested in that hand. (A single Augment Crystal only affects one head of Double-weapon mindblade varients.) Unfortunately, the Soulknife must reattune each time the mindblade is manifested. Attuning a mindblade to an augment crystal requires a move action, which does not provoke attacks of opportunity, however you may expend your Psionic focus to attune a mindblade to it's stored Augment Crystal as a free action.

Glove of Crystal Storing: this is a normal leather glove save for the fact that an Augment Crystal can be inserted into a small pouch on the back of the hand. (5 SP)

Normally you can't really attach stuff to a mind blade, so I'd argue that you couldn't attach an augment crystal. You could, however, attach it to a mind blade gauntlet and apply its effect to the weapon that way, since the effect of the MBG is to enhance mind blades.

I think you're using your impression of mind blades as rules. The rules say nothing about attaching stuff to a mind blade. Mind blades are physical enough to have a hardness and hit points.

Do mind blades have a weight? Can it be disarmed? Does it do slashing weapon damage or energy damage? Does it bypass all DR like a spell? Could you tie a string around it? It's identical "in all ways (except visually) to a short sword." Can you attach an augment crystal to a short sword?

Can you apply an oil of Bless Weapon or Greater Magic Weapon to a Mind Blade? How about Silversheen? Can you place a Mind Blade into a Scabbard of Keen Edges or use Oil of Keen Edge on it?

Well I guess you learn something everyday... I can't find anything that says you can or can't buff your mind blade in the FAQs or Sage Advices or Mind's Eyes.

I guess wasting an extra Move action to apply it to the blade should compensate... and I know you don't want to Throw the blade if it's got a Crystal attached!!!
