I have never got to level 20 before but always plan a 20 level character.

so I would like to see how you got there with 2 classes in particular: psion and psychic warrior.

I went from level 1 to 20 with a straight PW before. He was a human with a sword, shield, and armor. Most of his powers were defensive or buffers and his feats were all damage boosters or "kewl effets."

My friend had a build for a PW that was actually pretty good. The only feats he took were Psionic Body and Psionic Talent. Overall, it was good for a starting psionic character.

Currently, I am playing a telepath and he's rocking. Just straight telepath. Anf guess what: I'm taking almost nothing but telepathy powers and he's more effective than most of the party. For things that are uneffected by telepathy, I took a single, augmentable damage dealing power. Problem solved.

I had a human psion(shaper)/13 who had boost construct, psionic body, and the other feats in psionic talent. If I kept going as I intended, he should have had 468 PP at lvl 20 with only feats and intellegence. I had about half of that at 13 though.

16.

Let's just say I've finally met a DM willing to risk psionics in a campaign.

PSI 20 has 343 base pp.

INT 18 + 5 level + 6 item + 5 tome = 34. INT 34 = +12 bonus.
20 x 12 x 1/2 = 120 bonus pp.

Human psion 20 has 13 feats. If all are put into psionc talent, he gets 104 bonus pp.

Total: 343 + 120 +104 = 567 pp.

I think this is the upper limit for a lv 20 psion with the base psionic rules. Other races may have +2 starting pp, but only get 12 feats. A race with INT +2 gets +10 bonus pp due to INT, but -14 pp (one feat less).

There are a very few items out there , which grant a one-time permanent bonus pp. Let's say you find a +7 pp item during a Lv 20 career (Staff of Penumbra does this, I think), it's not too much. You can't count on this, though.

You can boost with temp. pp-items (cog. crystals) or items, which decrease the cost (torc of power preservation).

Other feats which boost pp:
minds eye: psychic meditation, deep psychic meditation (x3), use third eye chakra 3x /day at lv 20 for +60 temp pp, but it takes 3 feats, so the bonus pp by psionic talent is cut by 39. Net result: +21 pp/day.

There are several powers, which grant temp. pp if you harm a foe or meet other criteria with the power.

I hope this post helps.

P.S.: my multiclass psion is a Lv 9 human character with 62 pp.

With Incarnum, you can also take the Azure Talent feat and boost your PP that way. Also, don't forget all those nice new psionc PP reserve magic items in the Magic Item Compendium.

47 power points, with my monk 14/kineticist 5/crusader 1. The DM (who somehow liked 3.0 psionics  ) houseruled that kineticists use strength as their manifesting stat. My character had almost as many bonus power points as he did base power points.

Human psion 20 has 13 feats. If all are put into psionc talent, he gets 104 bonus pp.
I counted it up, twice, and got 99. 13 psionic talents should give 99 bonus power points.

If your Strength, Dex, and Con scores are all over 7, then you can get more power points by taking Body Fuel than by taking that last Psionic Talent.

I've had a human egoist 7/Psy Warrior 2/Monk 2 with 60 pp and a human wilder 9 with 90 pp.

PSI 20 has 343 base pp.

20 x 12 x 1/2 = 120 bonus pp.

Khalastar psion 20 has 12 feats. If all are put into psionc talent, he gets 90 bonus pp.

He also nets +20 pp from his race (1pp/character level)

Total: 343 + 120 + 90 +20 = 573 pp.

Oh - and InkBlot: Count again, 13 feats is 104 bonus PP. :-)

Either way, Body Fuel gives you more power points than that last Psionic Talent will.

The benefit of Psionic Talent increases by +1 each time you take it after the first, so that 13th Psionic Talent is only giving you 14 power points. If you have a 10 in Str, Dex, and Con, then you can get 18 power points from Body Fuel before killing yourself.

I do not think those really count considering that they are damaging you with an intent to kill. They aren't really permanent and I think those are the ones that really count.

Try using Subverted Psion www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20051125a (i don't know how put the Html tags )Using taint and Tainted Power (Su): You gain additional power points per day equal to your taint score. you can get some really insane pp if you're evil enough ( and have a high constitution)
