While looking for cheap copies of the XPH on an online bookseller I use, I found this:

Psionics Handbook (http://www.alibris.com/booksearch?qwork=1837036&matches=36&title=psionics+handbook&cm_re=works*listing*title)

Okay, it *sounds* like the old, unexpanded Psionics Handbook, but what's that cover? That's not the cover I have, nor any I've seen, but it does look like a 3e edition cover. What's up?

It is the 3e one (the copyright date and back cover text give it away) but I don't recognize the art either.

"Cover may not depict edition offered for sale"

It says that right below the picture. To me that says it might be from anywhere.

The image used is the original place-holder image used for the 3.0 book before it was sent to the printer. None of the actual books had this cover that I am aware of, although some editor at WotC may have a version with this cover for final proof-reading.

That would be an awesome collectible.

Fairly sure its R.K Post's artwork.
