I have created a Psi-Gish gestated with a Soulknife setup for a upcoming game I will be playing in. My levels are as follows..

Psion 8 / Illithid Slayer 9 / Sanctified Mind 3

Or

Wilder 5 / Slayer 9 / Sanctified Mind 6

Or

Wilder 5 / Slayer 10 / Sanctified Mind 5

Or

Ardent 5 ....Same setup as Wilder but now I have to choose mantles and such.

Or

Erudite 8.... Same setup as Psion but taking Spell to Power varient.

It is driving me crazy as to what i should choose Psion/Wilder/Ardent/Erudite I like the abilities they all grant but have trouble looking into the future as to what I might need. Should I go Wilder/Ardent for the higher BAB and unique class abilities or should i go Psion/Erudite for the awesome powers known but less prestige class levels. Should I focus on Charisma or Intelligence or maybe Wisdom with Ardent. What if ANY class variants should I choose and why? I feel like my mind is going to explode and am wondering what other people would choose and why, hopefully also seeing some descriptions as to why they find it useful. The game is a ways off but the other side of my build is...

Soulknife 6 / Illumin Soul 5 / Soulbow 9

Picking a Elan for SHEER flexibility and to have a DM independent build as the DM can be a bit cruel sometimes (item wise) Yet even a Elan is not set in stone because it all hinges on what class setup I take ARGH!:headexplo

NOTE: On just the "Caster" side I end up with a +16 BAB with Psion/Erudite or a +18 BAB with Ardent/Wilder and a ML of 18 either way.

I'd go with Psion. If you're going Soulknife on one side, then there's not much of an advantage in going Wilder or Ardent on the other, since you get the better BAB between the two classes. Either class will reduce your number of powers known, and Ardent will significantly reduce your class power list since you won't be picking up very many mantles (or it'll eat up feats with Tap Mantle). I wouldn't go with Erudite either because you can't learn any powers if you have as many levels in another psionic class as you have in Erudite. (This may actually mean that you wouldn't gain any powers, since you start off as an Erudite 1//Soulknife 1.) Finally, without any levels in a full-BAB class, I don't think you can get into Slayer or Sanctified Mind with only 5 levels in other classes.

Anyway, your Soulknife side looks pretty good. In fact, it looks like something I might play in a normal game. On the manifester side, I'd probably use Psion 6/Slayer 9/Sanctified Mind 5 (using your Soulknife BAB to qualify for the Slayer's BAB prerequisite). Blast Feedback (which only works against enemies using Mind Blast) is considerably more situational than Disrupting Blow (which works on any psionic creature). Meanwhile, I think Cerebreal Immunity (which pretty much defeats any attacks, including supernatural abilities, with the [mind-affecting] descriptor, but does not interfere with buffs that have the descriptor) is a whole lot more useful than Power Resistance of your character level +5 (which most enemies will overcome easily and some will overcome automatically). Of course, you might consider taking only one PrC on the manifesting side-- for instance, Psion 10/Slayer 10-- and settle for a lower BAB in exchange for a better ML.

I totally ignored the fact that i can use my soulknife BAB to qualify for the PRC. i am such a noob sometimes. See this is exactly the kinda feedback i was looking for.

Remember you can't take PrC's at both sides of a Gestalt :S

That would settle you to:

Soulknife 20//Psion 6/Slayer 9/Sanctified mind 5

or

SK 5/Illumine soul 1/SK +10/Illumine soul +4//Psion 6/Slayer 10/Psion 4
(remember gestalt always goes with fractional BAB)
This one has the earliest Slayer entrance. If you prefer an earlier metamorphosis, then take Sk5/Isoul 2//Psion 7, then enter Illithid slayer.

That depends on the DM. I figured WR had already cleared it.

Anyway, if you can't PrC on both sides at once, I'd probably go with Psion 16/Slayer 4//Soulknife 10/Soulbow 10.

Crimson is correct in that i can prestige on both sides and i can even use Flaws + Traits.

I don't remember the fractional BAB but when i get home to check the books i will give it another once over.

I was giving the Variant psions the once over and i keep going back to the telepath for Telepathy + Mindsight. However i believe ill go Shaper but if i read some convincing arguments otherwise i will rethink my decision.
