The PQ is a great character yet I see it hardly anywhere on the boards, why? There better than a standard fighter, can go into the psychic weapon master class or can take VOP and use natural attacks. So is there something I don't know that makes them a bad choice?

See it the other way around: The Psychic Warrior is such a well designed class that everyone can see it and no one can complain about it.

Psychic Warrior Build Guide & Compendium (http://boards1.wizards.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-53738)

See my sig for some Psychic Weapon Master builds, too :)

I love the psywar - I think the problem is they're good, but not super, duper, cheese-arific good, so that they get used a lot in regular play, but not so much in a lot of the experimental builds that go on on this board.

In my sig is some psychic warrior add ons or replacement and substitution levels. If you would like to add to this feel free.

Nope, they're an excellent choice. Unlike a lot of classes (Ranger, Soulknife, Wilder, Sorcerer, Monk, Fighter), people are mostly happy to use Psychic Warriors as-is.

They're solid. Not much to talk about. :)

What's the point of trying to improve upon perfection?

Okay I get it. They are one of the few perfectly balanced classes. Thanks.

You've really hit the nail on the head. They are wonderfully balanced.

What's shocking about this is that the 3.0e Psychic Warrior was also fairly nicely balanced... in a book of crap that wasn't much balanced at all.

It's one of the few good things about Psionics in general. And it's still pretty darn good. :)

Wasn't so back in the day, they were a little bit "clumsy", but they are the best class in terms of balance to power.

one of the few good things about psionics?? Are you talking about 3rd edition still? I'm pretty sure that psions are good too...

I think no one plays Psychic Warriors cos they're busy with Soulknives and Divine Minds.

I give psychic warriors more base pp, it makes them a bit more stable. Being able to use more than roughly your level in pp in a given battle is a good thing!

Still a great class though ;)

If you have forgotten all about 3.0e Psionics (as opposed to the excellent 3.5e Psionics), then I envy you. It was ... not good.

When my kineticist went from 3.0 to 3.5, my party said, and I quote, "Woah, your character is good now!"

Sorry, who would waste their time with the Divine Mind?

I found the 3.0e Psychic Warrior to be more of a Psychic Adventurer. Well balanced for exploring, but I thought their combat prowess was a little less compared to a Paladin or fighter of equal level.

When I could upgrade to 3.5 my DM allowed me to replace inertial armor with force screen, and swap out a not so great feat for Psionic Weapon. Suddenly I went from good dungeoneer to excellent combatant. I do think Tieflings make for great Psychic Warriors. I have yet to try a Tiefling as a psion.

Though for debate, should I add a few levels of Soul Knife, and do dual wield using a real Katana and mind blade. Of course if I pushed away from PW, I could get a mind katana.

I love Psionics!

I am playing one now.

It is kindof sad to be outperformed by the Dragon Shaman though :(

I hate the Dragon Shaman. It has better auras than the Marshall or Divine MInd, and does better lay on hands than the Paladin. It takes command/healing things and suddenly makes them the province of primitive dragon worshippers instead of their usual classes...

Oh, I was joking ealier. :)

Though I s'pose the Soulknife is pretty popular, really. (for some reason)

Man, if you want to make a Psychic Warrior have more options, check out Secrets of Sarlona and the Monk/Psionic class multiclassing feats

Instead of dipping into soulknife, why not use call weaponry to manifest your psychic blade?

If you can use Mind's Eye material, look at the Soulbound Weapon (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070214a) psychic warrior variant. It gives a psychic warrior the ability to manifest a psionic weapon that gains power as she does.

Reflavor Call Weapon, and you CAN be a soulknife.

... cheese-arific ...

Someone said "cheese" :D .

Just stick a basic re-charge set-up into a PsyWar build.
Then rethink it slightly to take advantage of making Clerics cry for Sanjaya.

Oh well I've only played 3.5, I just wanted to make sure that he was still talking about 3.0
