| MelodramaticCrane01-29-08, 03:54 AM | I wanted to make I wilder for some adventure and came out with a grate level plan. I wanted to get opinions for the forum so here it is. Also I’m not that experienced in psionics so if there is something I didn’t understand tell me. A human or strongheart Halfling wilder with the educated wilder variant form minds eye (Educated Wilder (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070214a)) Ability order dex, cha, con, wis(at least 13), int, str. Max out Concentration . Focuses on ray spells. Key powers- crystal shard, Precognition, Offensive, others gained from expanded knowledge. 1: Psi-crystal Affinity, weapon focus (ray) 3: Psicrystal Containment 5: Precognition, Offensive 6: Psionic Meditation 9: Hustle, Twin power 12: split psionic ray 13: Schism 15: power specialization 17: possibly freedom of movement or animal affinity(for +4 dex) 18: grater power specialization 16d6+4+7 14d6+4+7 14d6+4+7 Twin, surge +2, split + 14d6+4+7 14d6+4+7 Schism, surge +2, split. That’s a 72d6 Add power grater specialization that 72d6 +20 Add Prescience-Offensive (surge +2) that’s 72d6 +55 not bad. To hit we have +6 from precognition +1 from focus ray, +15 BAB+ dex touch attack. No save, DR or PR. This of course its the first round The battle plan looks like this Buff round: manifest- schism (for 20 rounds), Prescience-Offensive (swift, for 20 minutes), Precognition, Offensive (swift, 20 minutes). 47 power points First standard round Manifest crystal shard, wild surge+2 it, expend you focus to twin it and expend your crystals focus to split one shard. Refocus Second brain Manifest crystal shard, wild surge+2 it, expend you focus to split it. Manifest hustle (immediate) Refocus. 45 power points. 72d6+55 damage Every standard round after Manifest crystal shard, wild surge+2 it, expend you focus to split it. Refocus Second brain Manifest crystal shard, wild surge+2 it, expend you focus to split it. Manifest hustle (immediate) Refocus. 45 power points. 68d6 +47 True it’s a high price in power points but due to the flexibility of psionics you can save power points for dice you subtract. You can enchant it more with a higher wild surge, but the risk is yours. |

| CrimsonDeath01-29-08, 03:28 PM | i Really should get a typo fixer word just doesn’t do the job :D The reason it didn't work is because "consternation" is an actual word. And a very funny one in that context. Anyway, I might as well comment on the actual build... Weapon Focus: Ray and (Greater) Power Specialization are generally considered wasted feats. You could grab a couple more metapsi feats or some more Expanded Knowledge feats instead, for a bit more versatility. Also, it should be noted that the metapsionic version of Split Ray explicitly affects two targets, so the DM may rule that they have to be two different targets rather than the same one twice. |
| The_Shaman01-29-08, 04:48 PM | I've been intrigued by a mix of psionics and incarnum, tbh. The veil soulmeld that adds to the DC of telepathy spells sounded quite interesting... especially with the feat that lets you fill a soulmeld to the brim if you expend your psionic focus. Sure beats Greater Psionic Endowment, I think ;) |
| MelodramaticCrane01-30-08, 02:29 PM | I know there considered wasted feats but due to the multiple attacks they give multiple bonuses, which is probably good. i mean with 4-5 attacks a +1 hit each and +4 damage each is not that bad. Also I should have wrote that this build works bet with multiple enemies. I guess you could in the case of 1 enemy use twin power twice (if agreed by DM, I think it’s logical) yet it would make it less effective. One last thing is that logically (not mechanically because that would make it overpowered) shouldn’t the order of the Metapsi make a difference? I mean twin power duplicates the spell, while split ray adds a target. So doesn’t it make sense that if a duplicate a spell with 2 targets I get 4 targets? |
