I've been thinking about this for a couple of days. I really like the call weaponry power, and decided to make a PrC based on it. The concept is suppose to be someone that creates the right weapon for the right situation. Everything the Soulknife was suppose to be, in my eyes.

However, I think I overpowered it, a bit. ;) The name sucks, as well.

Ectopic Weapon Master

"Unarmed? Never. My mind is my weapon"

Ectopic Weapon Masters believe in preparedness. They've desided the path to true martial mastery is not focusing on a single weapon, but on the power to create all weapons, and use them equally well. Most Ectopic Weapon Masters are Psychic Warriors. They show a preference for creating their weapon over using a manufactored weapon, since their mind forms a weapon of perfect balance and length for their body. To this end, most apprentice under a Master Smith for some time to learn the art of Crafting the perfect weapon. As they start down their path, they more and more shun the use of mundane weapons, continuing to prefer to create their own. Most true masters carry only an emergancy weapon. Some Ectopic Weapon Masters gather in small groups. Most are self taught, but in High Psionic areas, they form schools to teach others their arts.

Requirements:
Ability to manifest the call weaponry Power.
BAB +5
Craft (Weapon): 10 Ranks
Psionic Weapon Feat

HD: d8

Level BAB Fort Ref Will Ability Manifester
1 +1 +2 +2 +0 Improved Call weaponry ----
2 +2 +3 +3 +0 Rapid Calling +1 level of existing manifesting class
3 +3 +3 +3 +1 Improved Call weaponry +1 level of existing manifesting class
4 +4 +4 +4 +1 Crystal Calling +1 level of existing manifesting class
5 +5 +4 +4 +1 Extend Calling ----
6 +6 +5 +5 +2 Improved Call weaponry +1 level of existing manifesting class
7 +7 +5 +5 +2 Infinite Shapes +1 level of existing manifesting class
8 +8 +6 +6 +2 True Calling +1 level of existing manifesting class
9 +9 +6 +6 +3 Improved Call weaponry +1 level of existing manifesting class
10 +10 +7 +7 +3 Master of Forms ----

Class Skills: The Ectopic weaponry Master’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Autohypnosis (Wis), Climb (Str), Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Jump (Str), Knowledge (psionics)* (Int), Profession (Wis), Ride (Dex), Search (Int), and Swim (Str).
(2 + Int) Skill Points Per Level

An Ectopic Weapon Master gains no new proficiencies.

Improved Call weaponry(Ex): When you manifest the call weaponry power and augment it to gain at least a +1 enhancement bonus, you may add any special ability from the magic items menu with a cost of +1, or under 2,000gp. At 3th level, you may add a +2 special ability or special abilites totalling a +2 bonus, or one costing under 4,000gp. At 6th level you may add a +3 special ability, or special abilities totalling a +3 bonus, or one costing 8,000gp. At 9th level, you may add a +4 bonus, or special abilities totaling a +4 bonus, or one costing 16,000gp.

You must select these abilities each day, and only once per day. They may be used for any weapon you summon, however if your choice is invalid (Might Cleaving on a Ranged weapon, for example), you do not get to change your selection, it merely does not function.

Rapid Calling(Su): A number of times per day equaling your class level, you may manifest call weaponry as if you had used the Quicken Power feat. This does not increase the Power Point cost of the call weaponry power, but you must still expend your psionic focus.

Crystal Calling(Su): At fourth level you may add the following Augmentation to your call weponry power:

Augment: If you spend 1 additional power point, you may summon a crystal weapon.
If you spend 3 Additional power points, you may summon a Deep Crystal weapon.

Extend Calling (Ex): Whenever you manifest call weaponry, you automatically double the duration of weapons you summon. In addition, weapons persist for 4 rounds, instead of 2 round, after you release your grip.

Infinite Shapes (Su): At any time during the duration your call weaponry power, you may expend your psionic focus to change the shape of the weaponry to any other weaponry you are proficient with. This is a swift action.

True Calling (Ex): When you are in an Anti-Magic field or a Null Psionics field that would normally prevent you from manifesting call weaponry, you may attempt a Concentration check, with a DC of 10 + the caster level of whatever is preventing you from manifesting your call weaponry power. The DC against an Anti-Magic from a Level 18 Wizard would be a 28, for example. If you succeed on this check, you may manifest call weaponry normally. You may not use this ability in conjunction with Rapid Calling. This abilith has no effect on other powers while you are within effects such as an Anti-Magic Field or Null Psionics Field.

Master of Forms (Ex): You may apply feats such as Weapon Focus, Improved Critical, and Weapon Specialization to any weapon you summon with your call weaponry power.
For example: If you have the feats Weapon Focus (Longsword) and Improved Critical (Scimitar), and you use your Call Weaponry Power to create a a Longspear, you can apply the benefits of both the Weapon Focus feat and the Improved Critical feat to your longspear, as if you had taken the feats for the longspear.

basically that means you can't apply feats until umm... at least level 15? err... really?

Maybe the wording is bad.

BUt if you have, say Weapon Focus (Longsword). You can use that when you summon a longsword. But it is useless if you summon, say, a Spear for reach.

That ability lets you use the Weapon Focus with the Spear.

Nope, I understood your wording (i think). It's well... i mean isn't level 15 a bit late for this? (probably even 16 or more, depending on build). Or you simply pool all your weapon feats for the purpose of you calling weapon?

I'm not sure what you are asking. There seems to be miscommunication in the system ;)

But I thought the ability to apply any of the weapon specific feats to anything you summon was rather powerful.

Technically, it would work with Exotic Weapon Prof as well.

I was actually worried about it being overpowered

The OP is trying to say that all feats that would specify a weapon now apply to all weapons called with the call weapon power so if the guy had weapon focus greatsword and Improved critical scimitar, he would get the benefits of both feats with any called weapon.

Psi-druid is reading the ability as allowing you to take the feats starting at that point, rather than upgrading old feats, as I believe is the intent of the OP.

As for the class over all: I think this would make a great gestalt class for a martial adept, a good PrC choice for a weaponcentric Psychic warrior, and a solid choice for wilders, lurks, or ardents seeking a little martial oomph.

Couple things though:

One you forgot to list the number of skill points per level.

Two, the skill reqs are a little hinky, you have a class that requires atleast 6 levels to enter closer to 7 for its target class (psychic warrior), and it only requires 6 ranks in one skill not associated with its specialty. I'd recomend changing to 10 ranks in Craft weapon.

Three you didn't say anything about weapon/armor proficiency. Technically you don't have to, but its considered good form to say specifically that they gain no new proficiencies.

so if the guy had weapon focus greatsword and Improved critical scimitar, he would get the benefits of both feats with any called weapon.
So, feats are 'pooled' together for the purposes of any calling weapon. It would help to have this example in the description imho.

I've made the fixes and apply the skill requirement suggestion from rampant.

Psi-Druid, does that example clear up the confusion you think?

Oh. Er. Right. I knew that. I was just seeing if you were paying attention.

Ugh. Now to try and put this image in my head into words for flavor text. This is the part that doesn't work so well for me.

I added an ability at 8th level, called True Calling.

I'm rather doubtful as to the usefulness of (non-deep) crystal weapons. In exchange for an extra power point, you are reducing your weapon's hardness by 2 and reducing its hit points by ~16% (25/inch rather than the normal 30 for steel).

True Calling needs to be an Extraordinary ability or it, too, will be negated by the anti-magic/null-psionics field. Also, the ability, while clearly enough stating it's intent, doesn't actually come out and say that it does something other than allow you to roll a die.

'Long Lasting Calling' seems to be a rather clumsy name, IMHO. Might want to change that to something more concise, such as the ever-popular 'Extend Calling'.

Its there as a minor augment, before the useful augment of Deep Crystal Weapons, and for flavor. Skipping Crystal for Deep Crystal seemed rather incomplete.

Huh. I thought Supernatural abilities were usable in Anti-Magic fields for some reason. I'll go change it, thanks for pointing that out.

I was trying to stay away from the "extend" thing, just because it is way over done. Along with Rapid, I suppose. It does make remembering the effect easier, I suppose.
