| Loestalx05-24-07, 05:26 PM | Just a quick question. Which book are stats for 1/2 Drow in? I know I own the book, but I own so many I can't remember. I assume it's in Races of Faerun or something Forgotten Realms oriented, but I so many books I don't wanna pour thru them all, thanks. |
| Ogg05-24-07, 05:31 PM | Forgotten Realms is the only book I think that distinguishes them. You get darkvision (60' going from memory?) instead of low-light. In my campaign I also make them drop the +2 to Diplomacy & Gather Information since they're less socially accepted but that's not in the rules. |

Well, not to break any rules...but do you happen to know the LA of a 1/2 Drow? One of my players wants to make one tonight so I need to find this info. |
| TimelordSimone05-24-07, 05:38 PM | It has no LA. (or: LA +0) It is the same in all respects to a regular half-elf, except for replacing low-light vision with darkvision. I also agree about dropping the +2 to Diplomacy and Gather Information. Possibly replacing them with something else. Intimidate or something. |

They don't get like a weaker form of spell resistance or anything? I thought they did...but I may be wrong, it has been some time. |
| Nat_2005-24-07, 05:40 PM | I have a homebrew for a half drow half high elf race if he is interested... but a +1 lvl adj |
| AMGriffin05-24-07, 05:44 PM | Drow are pretty lackluster at LA+2, so a half-drow at LA+1 is probably going to be just as sorry. A better solution would be to make a half-drow paragon that granted a few drow powers. PS: Half-elves are underpowered. (I don't feel right not saying it) |
| Loestalx05-24-07, 05:47 PM | Well nat 20, if you could PM me your half drow I can look it over. And as far as not being powerful...he isn't looking for power, it's a role playing thing I believe. We will start the game for the first time tonight, starting the Drow War series by Mongoose. |
| AMGriffin05-24-07, 05:53 PM | I used to use this LA+1 Half-drow, but it was really weak. • +2 Intelligence • Medium Size, 30 feet base landspeed • Darkvision out to 90 feet • +1 on listen, search, and spot checks. • Spell resistance 5+Character levels • SLA: Darkness 1/day • +1 racial bonu on all will saves against spells and spell-like abilities • +2 racial bonus on saves against sleep spells and mind effecting spells. • 1 bonus feat at first level • Mixed blood: Counts as both human and drow. • Favored Class: Any |

I don't think it's too weak, I think it's pretty well balanced...I like it, thanks alot. |
| Nat_2005-24-07, 06:29 PM | Darkline Elves. "Accept what you are, or wallow in it. By accepting what you are, others may do the like." Having the blood of the High Elves of the surface and the Drow of the underdark, Darkline elves have been banished (in the more merciful cases) from their parents cultures. Wondering the world without purpose or family, Darklines often take up adventuring, finding allies where they can. There are villages of Darkline elves, but the number is small at best. Often being attacked by both High elves and the Drow, Darklines show little interest in outsiders, but do watch if any trespass in their lands. Some have even been know to help parties in need, especially if attacked by the Drow. They are fiercely loyal to their own kind, and defend each other, and other Darkline villages at all costs. Darkline elves rarely trust people of other races, but have been know to befreind an adventuring party and show the highest of loyalty to what few family or friends they may have. Stats. - +2 DEX, -2 CON, +2 CHA, Many Darklines often show courage in the face of danger, snd are good at talking with people. - Immune to sleep, +2 to all saving throws vs. magic. The Drows natural resistance to magical attacks show through in these elves. But in a lesser way. - Darkvision 90' from their underground lineage. - Weapon Proficiency with Longsword, Shortsword, Hand and light crossbows and long and short bows. Most are familiar weapons to their lineage. - +4 to spot, search and listen checks. With so many enemies, they must be very aware of the surroundings, to be unaware means to be dead. - Spell like ability (Darkness) 1/day, as cast by a Sorcerer of the character's class levels. - Automatic Languages: Common, Elven, and Undercommon. Bonus: Draconic, Gnoll, Goblin, Orc, and Sylvan. Many know the languages of their enemies and allies. - Favored Multiclass: Sorcerer, the magical arts come more natural for them. - Level Adjustment: +1 What do you think, i play them as often as possible. Very fun. |
| AMGriffin05-24-07, 06:36 PM | They're grossly weak for LA+1. |
| Nat_2005-24-07, 07:11 PM | Yeah, i guess your right, but better under than over though... I'll work on them later... Maybe remove the +2 CHA, and +4 listen spot and search and make them a base race? |
| AMGriffin05-24-07, 07:26 PM | That'd make them too weak, it'd make them inferior to elves. You may as well use the traditional "Elf A+Elf B= Elf A or B" rule. |
| Ogg05-25-07, 10:33 AM | If you just want to make a weaker drow use the Savage Progression version but only take it up one level or leave it at base for a weaker one: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20040213a |
| Malek299105-25-07, 10:37 PM | Half-Drow starts on pg 62 of Races of Faerun no lev adjustment. |
