| toranaga18101-27-08, 09:16 PM | Does anyone know if there is a template that adds arms to your character???? Im tired of playing a character with 2 arms, and I dont really like like options for 4 armed creatures... Help?!?! |
| Crimson_Concerto01-27-08, 09:32 PM | I don't know of any RAW-legal ways to get 4 arms, but there's a spell in the Spell Compendium called Girallon's Blessing. Maybe you can get your DM to let you somehow make that permanent via the Permanency spell or using the custom magic item rules in the DMG or something. However, again, neither of these options are RAW-legal. |
| Surferfreak01-27-08, 09:48 PM | Grafting? Libris Mortis gives options for adding various...parts to your whole. Arms, new fangs, all sorts of Fleshy stuff. |
| toranaga18101-27-08, 10:39 PM | Lets say if I wanted to make a template.. do you think I should add more Str? more Dex? Less Dex? It really wouldnt be a naturally occurring thing, so It could be a curse..or maybe "divine intervention" anyone have any thoughts on that?? |
| Grod_The_Giant01-27-08, 11:24 PM | f you did make a template, I would have no stat bonus (an extra pair of arms is bonus enough) and a wisdom or intelligence penalty due to the shock and difficulty of controlling multiple arms. |
| petalred01-27-08, 11:29 PM | I've often been interested in controlling four arms as well. What exactly are the options for existing four-armed monsters? Anything with fairly low level adjustments and racial hit die? |
| Crimson_Concerto01-27-08, 11:31 PM | f you did make a template, I would have no stat bonus (an extra pair of arms is bonus enough) and a wisdom or intelligence penalty due to the shock and difficulty of controlling multiple arms. While I agree that a 4-armed template does not need any stat bonuses, I disagree that anything about having 4 arms requires a stat penalty. Multiple arms are not difficult or disorientating to control, and even if it were, it wouldn't be difficult enough to warrant a mental stat penalty. Also, for petalred, the best option out there I know of is the Thri-Kreen. |
| toranaga18101-27-08, 11:43 PM | I have been using golems, slapping an extra pair of arms on em, then using the Incarnate Construct template... it says that its only supposed to be used on humanoids....but its all i've got, for now. it works out alright, i just dont have any feats. and i have a massive amount of strength, not that im complaining..it just makes me want to make it more powerful. i just wish i had something more...subtle, with 4 arms.. |
| nighttree01-28-08, 10:26 AM | There is allready a 3.5 template called "Obah Blessed creature" that will give you a total of 4 arms for a +2 LA, or six arms for +3 LA. In addition you gain some good stat pumps, multiweapon fighting (bonus feat), and a plus to grapple attempts. It's the best thing out there (IMO) for multiple arms :D |
| toranaga18101-28-08, 07:29 PM | REALLY?? wait..what book?? |
| forrestfire1501-28-08, 08:14 PM | There is a template in the Dungeon Master's Guide 2 that gives you and extra 2 arms for +2LA each extra set. You also get the multiweapon fighting feat with the first set and a +10 on disguise checks to hide the extra arms. |
| toranaga18101-28-08, 08:50 PM | page 157 in DMG2 and in issue #136 of Dungeon Magazine since i have the DMG2...HELL YES! I LOVE YOU! its for npc's...but oh well, i found it strange that it gives the option for the arms to go inside of the body, or not inside of the body....that would just be freaky..... |
| nighttree01-28-08, 08:56 PM | Most of the abilities in the DMG 2 are also deliberatly overblown regarding LA (to prevent PC from taking them). |
| toranaga18101-28-08, 08:58 PM | hmmm i could just leave out the LA... |
| forrestfire1501-28-08, 09:06 PM | we houseruled it to be +1 LA. I also find it freaky that you can make your arms go into your body...Maybe the writers were watching Lilo and Stitch at the time... |
| nighttree01-28-08, 09:23 PM | I still like the Obah Blessed template better :D The ability modifiers are much nicer ;) |
| Wellspring01-28-08, 09:52 PM | If you're creating a template like that, you should make sure to add Alertness as a bonus feat. After all, forewarned is fourarmed. |
| toranaga18101-28-08, 10:22 PM | do you know where i can find the Obah Blessed temp. besides from dragon magazine???? |
| nighttree01-28-08, 10:33 PM | If you're creating a template like that, you should make sure to add Alertness as a bonus feat. After all, forewarned is fourarmed. ROFLMAO............BAD  |
| nighttree01-28-08, 10:42 PM | do you know where i can find the Obah Blessed temp. besides from dragon magazine???? I don't think it's OGC (or whatever that term is) so it's probably not OK to post the specifics in a "public" forum. |
| toranaga18101-28-08, 10:44 PM | Ah crap....there has got to be someway of getting it. I think its $4.95 or something for a pdf file...i think GAH! You would think WotC would have it on their website...... |
| Axisell01-29-08, 04:26 AM | we houseruled it to be +1 LA. I also find it freaky that you can make your arms go into your body...Maybe the writers were watching Lilo and Stitch at the time... Doesn't it actually say in that book that the level adjustments are liberal? that they should be reduced if players want them? I think that's what it said... |
