08-26-07, 12:19 PM There are rumours about gnomes being cut out from PHB4.0 and substituted by planetouched and/or goblinoids.

Whether these claims are true or not, 4th edition has already been preparing, and petitions like this will unlikely be able to affect it.

Nevertheless, I want to let the community know about my indignation :rant: :what kind of RPG would sacrifice those little magical bast... people to allow freaklings and the like acquire the noble status of "PHB race"?

Has this got any sense?:weep:

08-26-07, 01:06 PM Even if they cut gnomes out of the new PHB, they might very well add them back in as a Dwarven sub-race in the new MM.

I highly doubt that they would remove gnomes entirely.

No, no, no. I'm heckling the gnome supporters. Ever hear of that "the best way to support a cause is to defend it with faulty arguments"? If you succeed on a measly DC 6 Concentration check, you gain a +2 bonus bonus on your Perform (oratory) check to convince people to sign the petition.

And besides, I rolled a 6. You'd be better off making your own heckle check.

08-26-07, 01:48 PM I'll sign this petition, gnomes are a staple of DnD and one of my favorite races. They've been with us since 1rst Ed, they've earned their place in every PHB.

Gnomes have a rich culture in DnD and have brought so much to the game over the years (even if too many times they were used as comic relief).*

The core DnD races have always been human, elf, dwarf, gnome and half-elf nothing more and nothing less.

Any other races are just ad-ons

08-26-07, 02:19 PM Chances are if gnomes ar emade 'not core' they will unlikely be removed from the game. They will just be included in the Monster manual or such. Although there may be less info availble.

The Big problem with gnomes is for a large part of their existance they seemed to have had identity issues. Their not Dwarves their not halflings are they magical? Maybe are they silly tricksters dealy tricksters or just a fondness for games..

Ohw ait no they are Inventors with silly names and nothing ever works.. thats right dragonlance introdced the first identity crisis. Theres nothing rong with the Dragonlance nomes but When it created an identity conflict within the race in the main game this caused issues.

To add all of this while some people like them in general they seem to be unpopular.

Sorry. But we'll let you read them as much during the day as you want and make updates at least once a year for free (if you pay).

If you want an advance copy of the new 4e, just let me know, I'll sell them to you at a cheap $30. Just deposit the money in my pay pal account (I'll email you about it).

RoS has heckle listed as a Bluff check. A charisma check (1d20+0) for me either way.
