I have a few questions regarding Warforged. Answers would be appreciated greatly. :)

First off, would a Warforged benefit from the use of a shield? The wording on their entry in the Eberron book makes me unsure.

Second, do Warforged get bonus hitpoints due to being of the Construct type? It isn't mentioned one way or the other in the Eberron book and the latest FAQ says that Goliaths do indeed have low-light vision from being Monstrous Humanoids, as the entry does not state otherwise. However, the Warforged entry in Eberron lists many of the bonuses that are granted by the Construct type, in addition to things that Constructs normally have yet a Warforged doesn't have. Is this like with a Goliath, where the bonus exists but is unmentioned, or what?

If this has been answered in more recent FAQs, by all means point me to them. Thanks in advance.

As long as a Warforged is proficient with a shield, there's no reason I can think of that they cannot use one. I was under the impression that only armor bonus to AC was affected by the Warforged racial traits, not shield bonus.

As for the second, Warforged explicitly say that all their HD are obtained only from classes that they select, which implies that there aren't any extra HD from being a construct.

Hope this helps!

Warforged get the full benefit of using shields.

They do not gain extra hit points via their type.
