Could another character ride on a centaur, and if so can they attack on on a charge?

I wouldn't know of anything that prevents this.

To answer your question: yes. They can. They have to take their turn when the centaur does, but yes.

To answer your unasked (and possibly unthought) question (Would any centaur allow this to happen?): no. They wouldn't. Unless the centaur in question wants to be ridiculed for the rest of his sorry life, he would never allow this.

Err.. that would entirely depend on the Centaur in question. They're individuals.

I did this with a pair of paladins (both had an alterative ability to mount) Very intersting NPC duo. The cnataur saw it as identical tobeing part of a Phalanx, two warriors using each other's abilites to cover their won weaknesses.

What Snakeman means, is that centaurs are intelligent and evolved creatures. And as such, there is little chance they would allow themselves to be treated as mere mounts.
I must say i agree with that.

Would a human accept to be strapped and saddled, and used as a mount by a halfling ?
Before saying "whynot", consider this : Would your human character accept this ?

The crunch of it is, yes you can. The fluff is entirely subjective. I can imagine a world in which Humans and Centaur have allied to combat the Orcish Hordes for generations and have developed a strategy in which a human with a lance rides on the back of a centaur with a bow, so that they can fire while charging in and then tear up the orcs, or something like that, maybe the reverse. Whatever. It could happen.

I think there are numerous good reasons, why a centaur would allow someone to ride it, though most probably not on a permanent basis.
These would be all the situations where a human barbarian would grab a gnome under his arm and run like hell.

Yup. Those are about it. Of course, the centaur would throw the fighter on his back, pick up a gnome or halfling under each arm, and run like hell.

I have to wonder what the going rate for a male centaur is on the "escort" market??

An incredibly valid point. What if the centaur who you were asking for a ride from thought you were a rather attractive piece of bipedal goodness?

The only thing I really have problems with when dealing with Centaur characters is the male with ranks in ride. (In our epic campaign, soon we will have both a male and a femal centaur. I hope the male doesn't do this.)
