I have a question on the Aasimar.

As a Outsider(native) is it affected by spells that target humanoids? Is it affected by enchantments? Isn't calling something an Outsider that is Native in regards to a place slightly similar to an oxymoron?

No. It is not affected by spells that target humanoids only (like charm person). And it can be affected by enchantments like every other creature (unless it specifically cannot target outsiders, like charm person).

Outsider (native) says that the creature is an outsider in nature whose home plane is the prime material plane. Native outsiders cannot be banished IIRC.

Humanoid (planetouched) on the other hand can be affected by spells that target humanoids only (like charm person), and they can be banished IIRC.

What? Where would they be banished to?

Enlarge person, reduce person, hold person, and dominate person can only target humanoids.

The issue comes up a lot comes up a lot in Eberron games too. Spellcasters always want to enlarge the Warforged (even if the only Warforged in the party is an archer).

What about Suggestion?

Enchantment (Compulsion) [Language-Dependent, Mind-Affecting]
Level: Brd 2, Sor/Wiz 3
Components: V, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One living creature
Duration: 1 hour/level or until completed
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

Target is One Living Creature, so it should effect the Aasimar. For contrast:

Dominate Person
Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]
Level: Brd 4, Sor/Wiz 5
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 round
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One humanoid
Duration: One day/level
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

Dominate Person specifies the target as One Humanoid. It can ony target Humanoids, and since an Aasimar is an Outsider, it fails. The "Target" entry in the spell will specify who/what it effects.
