| Tichondrus04-11-07, 09:34 AM | One of my players wants to play a dopelganger. In the monster manual it says that the dople has +4 LA. It also says that it has 4 monster levels. So, when my player is a wizard level 1. Is his ECL 5 (1 +LA) or 9 (1+LA+monster HD)? Thanks in advance ^^ |
| runestar04-11-07, 10:13 AM | 9. |
| DEMONisbest04-11-07, 10:16 AM | I was beaten to it, but yes, its 9. And taking a wizard with ECL of 4+4 is suicidal, btw. |

If he is playing a doppelganger in a mainly diplomacy/political setting with minimal combat and lots of conversation(where it truly excels), it might not be a bad idea to have a few lvs in a variety of classes to better "fake" the classes he is seeking to emulate. Playing a doppelganger in a combat setting however. Now that is suicidal...:P |
