| shogunboy03-08-07, 11:13 PM | If anyone can tell me where Ogre Mages are from which book, I will be thankful, as I need to see their Spell-Like abilities. |
| TheDarkPrince03-08-07, 11:16 PM | The one and only monster manual. :D |
| Kadasbrass03-08-07, 11:29 PM | It should also be found in the SRD |
| runestar03-09-07, 12:02 AM | Ancient chinese secret...;) Spell-Like Abilities: At will—darkness, invisibility; 1/day— charm person (DC 14), cone of cold (DC 18), gaseous form, polymorph, sleep (DC 14). Caster level 9th. The save DCs are Charisma-based. I think the polymorph was changed to alternate form or change self in a recent errata though. |
| Kadasbrass03-09-07, 05:33 PM | You might be thinking of the Monster-Make over articles that redid Ogre mage. Its not an errata just an alternate version. Something that is better then a CR 8 creature with 30 hp. |
| Leonidus03-09-07, 06:00 PM | No, they also did re-write all monsters with polymorph to have alt. form. Part of the whole polymorph mess. |
| jaw4ever03-10-07, 01:16 PM | The Orge Mage monster class is available in Savage Species. |
| Ogrebear03-10-07, 02:16 PM | Here's the link (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dd/20060721a) for the Monster Makeover article that remade the Ogre Mage. If anyone has a Monster Progression for this version of the Ogre Mage I would be grateful if you could post it please. |

So much of that stuff, the at-will stuff, the regen, the shapechanging, is more than a fair trade for an extra hitdie and a bit of sneak attack. |
| Treymordin03-12-07, 12:21 AM | Are we allowed to post that kind of information on this site? |
| runestar03-12-07, 12:59 AM | The revised ogre mage is a free article on the wotc website, so its not something which people can't access freely on their own. And the SS progression is a homebrew creation, so it should be good to go.:) |
| Leonidus03-12-07, 02:32 AM | Yep, I wrote it, I offered it up for general viewing. And on that note, anybody got an opinions? Commentary on my LA adjustment or dispersement of abilities? |
| Threefists03-12-07, 07:32 AM | THANK YOU! I've been looking for a way to work the 'Miked' Ogre Mage into a PC class for some time....I worked out the LA as +6 or +7, but I tend to be extremely bad at working out LA, going far too high and too harsh. Also, much LOLing at how long it's taken for someone else to notice the reworked Ogre Mage....I tried everything short of flat-out necromancy to keep that thread in the first three pages.... Anyway, /salute and hope nobody minds if I ninja that class progression.... |
| Ogrebear03-12-07, 09:57 AM | Thanks for posting your breakdown of the Ogre Mage, Leonidus- this is a very interesting and seems nicely playable. Anyone know of good Ogre Mage source material apart from MM1? Any decent adventures, source books etc? |
