Hello all. I've got a game going were the main stage of interest is the abyss. i've been reviewing the blood war. And aside from maybe a 1 in 100 chance of becoming a prisoner of war to later be killed for high priced or public entertainment LE creatures are not welcome.

one of my players is interested in playing a Rakasha. now rakasha are LE. They are however Native outsiders. Doesnt say native to what, so just native to where ever they are i suppose.

Just wondering what you all think about a rakasha walking about in the abyss and if he'd be killed on sight or detection of Law. Even if he screened his alignment, beings still know what he is with a successful knowledge planes check. so i'm honestly not sure what to tell him.

Let him "enjoy" the consequence of being a baatzu sympathizer on the abyss. He'll learn his lesson.

 They're demons, Chaotic Evil, even if you are on their side, there's a good chance they'll skin ya alive and throw ya in a vat of lemon juice anyways.
Rakasha lack the lawful subtype, so they could get along with demons if they wanted to.

Native Outsider in the Monster Manual Usually Means Native to the Material Plane. A rakshasa may be Lawful, but its not a baatezu, nor even a devil by this definition.
On the other hand, these are the lower planes. Technically not guilty doesn't make them spare your life.

The sheer fact that the Rak would be a lawful creature, regardless of where he/she/it is from, is enough to earn a violent, messy death by the hands of natives of the Abyss.

Rakshasa are, IIRC, natives of Acheron. Though that might not be true depending on which campaign setting you are using.

I imagine a Chaotic outsider on the Abyss might be prejudiced against a Lawful Evil creature, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be attacked on sight. I would suggest it depends largely on the type of Chaotic outsider, and who/what else the Rakshasa is travelling with.
