My friend and I were sitting around and thought of a pretty cool idea for a campaign setting, basically a post-apocalyptic fantasy world, set after the final battle between good and evil in a wasteland world populated by the survivors of the final conflict. The game will probably take place 150-200 years after the final battle.

Anyway, I think I've come up with a pretty solid race selection, I wanted to use mostly homebrew stuff, and am interested to see what you guys think of them.

Humans - Gotta have humans.

Frei - Medium-sized ratfolk. Their homeland destroyed in the apocalypse, the Frei are now wastewanderers who militantly strive to preserve their pre-apocalypse heritage and customs.

Orcs/Half-orcs - Don't normally like orcs, but they seem too suited to be badlands survivor/scavangers. Culturally, I don't have anything yet.

Sigils (Working name) - A psionic human-like race. They are born covered in intricate sigils that corrospond to 1 of the 6 schools of psionics, granting them a host of psionic boons, related to the school they are born under. The Sigil people live under a caste system based on these powerful birthmarks.

Kahrid - Small-sized insectoid race. The Kahrid mysteriously began appearing some 20 years post-apocalypse, emerging in small clicking groups from the mists of the wasteland. They are very short-lived, dying around age 30. I'm thinking they will probably have a hive city based in the wasteland. As a new culture, the Kahrid can be extremely diverse in their individual goals and dispositions.

Undead - I want to have a +0 or +1 LA undead race. They belong to a large, powerful undead ruled nation. Another caste system, powerful Liches and Vampires sit on the top, and the +0 LA Undead race comprises the mass of the undead citizens. Undead account for about 40% of the population, humans and orcs accounting for the other 60%, being used as slaves and cattle. I remember seeing a nation called Xaphan in Ghostwalk kind of like this, and I liked it.

Stone Elves - Also known at Petrified Elves to the other races, the Stone Elves are the final remainder of the Elven species. After their gods were defeated, the Elven race quickly followed them to their graves. Around 100 years after the apocalypse found a petrified forest, and a massive elven city, filled with elves turned into statues. Exactly what happened is still a mystery, but something, probably one of the explorers, triggered something that awoke the petrified elves. Since then, The cities of the petrified forest have slowly been awakening, adding more strength to this drastically altered race. The Stone Elves have began rebuilding their homeland and participating in trade and communications, mainly with the goal of finding a way to restore their race to its origional, non-stony form. (No, Stone to Flesh dosen't work)

And that's it. I'd appreicate any input or suggestions.

Might wanna take a look at some of the Dark Sun stuff. Athas.org has most of it updated to the new rules. As far as the races go, they sound interesting.
