Ok, tell me what you think about this build, i thought i would make a Catfolk usable for 1st lvl characters... so here we go

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d167/Meow_hez/Catthing.jpg

-- +4 Dex, -2 Con. "Lesser Catfolk are very quick but tend to be a little frail."
-- Base speed of 40'
-- Low-Light Vision: Catfolk can see twice as far as humans on starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinguish color and detail in these conditions.
-- Racial skills: +2 to listen, and move silently checks.
-- Automatic languages: Common, Feline. Bonus Languages: Draconic, Gnoll, Halfling, and sylvan.
-- Favored Class: Ranger

These Catfolk are a tribe of more human looking Catfolk. With ears, tail, and facial whiskers, these cat folk are sometime mistaken for humans. (Not at all like the pic up there, just wanted to use a pic i found online, lol)

Tell me what you think.

Drop the Dexterity to +2 and you should be good to go.

That pic is ... is ... frightening.

But seriously, that should be balanced for an LA +0 race. Yabba's system (if I've interpreted it right) has the Catfolk down as barely LA +1 (just over the 18 point limit {I think it's 18 points}). So taking away the natural armor and replacing +2 Cha with -2 Con should be enough. Incidentally, check out (that includes commenting on) my version of the Catfolk race (link is in my sig).

It's my understanding that favorably unbalanced ability modifiers are always considered worthy of an LA

supposedly a race that was:
+2 Dex
Medium
30 speed
Favored Class: commoner

Would be LA+1

I started reading your build but i saw all the words and just said forget it, but did i see some penalty for being wet? that sounds Ubertastic! But i just wanted a quick easy, and cool race to choose from, in i think this will be a playable race for my world.

And isnt it a SWEET pic??

What advantages does a PHB elf have over a lesser catfolk?

I was thinking about adding a -2 Str, think it would balanced?

Adding a -2 to Strength would help the balance as you would not have positively unbalanced ability modifiers.

-- -2 Str, +2 Dex. "Lesser Catfolk are very quick but tend to have a littler build."
-- Base speed of 40'
-- Low-Light Vision: Catfolk can see twice as far as humans on starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinguish color and detail in these conditions.
-- Racial skills: +2 to hide, listen, and move silently checks.
-- Automatic languages: Common, Feline. Bonus Languages: Draconic, Gnoll, Halfling, and sylvan.
-- Favored Class: Rouge

What do you think now??

Besides their favored class being make-up used to add color to ones cheeks it looks fine.

Yeah, I'm thinking I should just separate those three races into three individual threads, just for ease of reading. And the penalty for being wet probably won't stay there, by the way.
