| Aleolus02-15-08, 11:18 PM | Hey all. On my way home tonight, I was stuck by a bolt of inspiration, and came up with three different things. Two of them will be here in Races, the third will be over with the monsters. Here's the first! http://scholastic.com/animorphs/download/elfangor.jpg Andalites -2 Dex, +4 Int, +2 Wis Large Monstrous Humanoid Space/Reach: 10/5 Speed: 60 feet Extra Eyes (Ex): All Andalites possess two eyes atop stalks on the top of their heads. These eyes allow them to see in any direction they want to, remain active and on alert while the Andalite sleeps, and make them exceptionally difficult to sneak up on. This gives Andalites a +10 racial bonus on Spot checks, and they cannot be flanked. Tail (Ex): All Andalites have a viscious tail that they may use to make attacts far faster than the average eye can see. This grants them a natural attack which deals 1d6 slashing damage on a successful hit. They also may make one additional attack at their highest base attack bonus each round. All Andalites are also treated as possessing the Weapon Finesse feat when attacking with their tail. Telepathy (Ex): Andalites are naturally telepathic, and telepathy is their primary mode of communication. Andalites may communicate mentally with any creature within 100 feet with whom they share a language. This ability is not affected by Silence effect or normal means which prevent communication. Favored Class: Druid LA: +3 |
| Tectorman02-16-08, 12:31 AM | http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=806499 That's basically all I can say (except for telepathy; why no telepathy?). |
| Aleolus02-16-08, 12:41 AM | *Head smack* How could I forget their Telepathy! *looks up the page* *jawdrop* Aww, man! And here I thought I had had an original idea! Ah well, at least my version isn't as powerful as his, mostly because they don't have the "Morphing Technology". I just interpreted that as a variant of the Druids Wild Shape ability. |

Yeah, Andalite morphing is a technological ability, not inherent to the species. I haven't looked at that thread for a while, but I think it got decided that the Morphing Technology as is was incompatable with a d20 level-based system (like I said, ain't read it in a long while). Also, don't try to create an original Chakat (that's my brainchild!). Not the race, the race in D&D terms. |
| StoneSinger04-04-08, 07:55 PM | This....is.....AWESOME! Only problem I have with this is that no DM I know of would let me be one:P But if I did know one, I would be. Definately. |
| Lord_of_Rivendell04-27-08, 09:42 PM | Andalites are constantly under the effect of a Spoken Thoughts spell, with the Caster level equal to their hit die. LA: +3 I'm unfamiliar with this spell; where is it located? LoR |
| Aleolus04-28-08, 02:13 PM | ...Ah. Sorry, that was me thinking of a different system that has that spell in it. Basically, it gives target creature a limited degree of telepathy. I'll have to post a D&D version of the spell on the right forum. |

| Aleolus04-28-08, 03:37 PM | The CODA system, the Lord of the Rings. My favorite system, from what I've seen of them all |
| Cartigan04-28-08, 04:58 PM | Andalites are basically uber centaurs. And centaurs have a higher LA than that. |
