| Mark_Aged07-23-07, 07:49 PM | Anyone know of any templates that make tentacles grow out of you? I've always wanted to have extra limbs to hold swords for me. Or tentacles in general. |
| CoIntelPro7807-23-07, 09:09 PM | half illithid template give you tentacles, found in lords of madness i believe, but i could be wrong on its location. |
| Amaril07-23-07, 09:45 PM | There's a symbiont in the Eberron Campaign Setting you could always utilize. http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/eb_gallery/82162.jpg |
| Part-Human207-24-07, 12:03 AM | A feat and PrC in CPsi (both Illiathid heritage development). There are tentacle Grafts in either FF or LoM (or both). |
| Omega_Grey07-24-07, 02:51 AM | Half-Farspawn from Lords of Madness, and the Pseudonatural creature template from the Complete Arcane or the Epic Level Handbook (two very different types) grant tentacles. Though I think the Half-Farspawn is more what you are looking for. |
| Argaud07-24-07, 05:01 AM | Voidmind works too. MMIII I think. You can also get two tentacle attacks with three feats. Get the Deepspawn feat from Lords of Madness, which requires two other aberration feats. |
| The_Shaman07-24-07, 06:32 AM | Lords of Madness has a feat that gives you 2 tentacles as secondary effects, iirc. Oops... too late :) It's deepspawn. |
| skydin07-24-07, 09:50 AM | theres a vestige who grants his binders tentacles and such, but thats really not what your looking for is it? |
| RealSorceror07-24-07, 10:08 AM | Personally, I'd go with the Farspawn template or the Abberrant Blood feats (these get better the more you take). Of course, you could always take both and have 4 tentacles. Also, there are several grafts which grant tentacles, including Aboleth and Yuan-ti grafts, which are found in the Feind Folio. These just require cash and time to attach. |
| Mark_Aged07-24-07, 03:20 PM | Part-Human2, I don't know many short forms, so I was unable to understand mush of what you said. Sorry. skydin, yeah a vestige isn't what I'm looking for. RealSorceror, what's a graft? |
| Part-Human207-24-07, 03:30 PM | A feat and PrC in CPsi (both Illiathid heritage development). There are tentacle Grafts in either FF or LoM (or both). A feat and a Prestige Class in Complete Psionic. Grafts in the Fiend Folio or Lords of Madness. |
| Mark_Aged07-24-07, 03:57 PM | And what's a Graft? |
| RealSorceror07-24-07, 04:13 PM | And what's a Graft? Its a piece of a monster that you surgically attach to yourself. :) If you don't have the Graft Flesh feat, you'll have to find an NPC (likely a monster) who knows the procedures and shell out some cash. Grafting is generally frowned upon in most good-aligned civilezed societies, but I'm sure thats not a problem for you. For tentacles, I'd go find an Aboleth or Yuan-ti. That'll get you some sweet abilities. Just be sure you let the Aboleth know that you want to be freinds. Otherwise, it'll probably enslave you and turn you into a frog man. :) |
| Mark_Aged07-24-07, 04:38 PM | Okay, thanks for all the help, guys. |
| tarkin07-24-07, 04:39 PM | Voidmind works too. MMIII I think. You can also get two tentacle attacks with three feats. Get the Deepspawn feat from Lords of Madness, which requires two other aberration feats. Voidmind makes you a mindless slave of illithids. I am betting he is not interested in that template. |
| Return of the Flumph07-24-07, 11:58 PM | I have a homebrew template which I can post if you'd like. |
| Saberus07-25-07, 12:14 AM | The Alienist PrC (CArc) gives you a tentacle at 10th level, and you gain the psuedonatural type... prolly not what you're looking for though... |
| Argaud07-25-07, 01:33 AM | Voidmind makes you a mindless slave of illithids. I am betting he is not interested in that template. Hardly mindless, it raises your Int in 2. And if the mindflayers that turned you get killed, you are free and keep the powers (and tentacle). |
| Mark_Aged07-25-07, 09:46 AM | I have a homebrew template which I can post if you'd like. I'd love to see. |
| Return of the Flumph07-26-07, 11:38 PM | Okay, here's the template I told you about. The fluff is very campaign specific, but is neccessary to explain its abilities. You can change it to match your campaign world easily enough. Lilim look human, and can hide their mutations inside of their bodies; only their eyes look abnormal, for the irises lose color. However, a pair of tentacles can emerge from the creature's chest at will, and its inner anatomy has other mutations (such as redundant organs). Lilim are not evil, but unpredictable, and sometimes dangerous. Lil Lilim (singular "lil") are Prime Material natives who have pledged allegience to Liali, a moon godess who was born in the Far Realms. Due to the alien nature of their creator, the lilim have many abilities that seem to make little sense, although there is a recurring motiff of magic, mutation, and the moon. Any humanoid, monstrous humanoid, magical beast, dragon, or giant with an intelligence of 3 or higher, a charisma of 11 or higher, and the ability to cast arcane spells can become a lil. Type: Change to aberration. Hit die type, attack bonus, saves, and skill points are unchanged. Speed: The base creature gains a climb speed equal to its land speed minus ten (minimum 10). Armor Class: +2 natural. Attacks: Base creature gains two tentacle attacks. Tentacle reach and base damage are determined by size: Size Damage Reach Small 1d3 5 ft Medium 1d4 10 ft Large 1d6 20 ft Huge 2d6 30 ft Gargant 2d8 50 ft Colossal 2d12 80 ft Ability Scores: +4 Strength, +4 constitution, -4 Wisdom, +4 Charisma Saving Throws: +4 to saving throws versus spells. Immune to fear and mind effects. Special Abilities: Improved Grab, Constrict, Mirror Walk, Suggestion Special Qualities: Low Light Vision, Insane, Moonlight's Blessing. Alignment: usually Chaotic Neutral Improved Grab (Ex): If it hits a creature one size category larger than itself or smaller with a tentacle attack, a lil can attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking attacks of opportunity. If it gets a hold, it can constrict. Constrict (Ex): A creature grabbled by a lil takes automatic tentacle damage each round the hold is maintained. Mirror Walk (Su): A lil can step through mirrors, polished metal, and other reflective surfaces as if they were magical portals. A lil can warp between any two such surfaces of sufficient size as long as they are within ten feet per lil HD of each other. Suggestion (Su): A lil can cause a maddening gust of emotion to a single creature within thirty feet, such as happiness, fear, or anger. This is otherwise identical to a suggestion spell. The save DC is charisma based. Insane (Ex): A lil uses its charisma bonus, rather than wisdom, to determine its will save bonus. Moon's Blessing (Ex): A lil receives a +1 enhancement bonus to attack rolls, saving throws, and skill checks in direct moonlight. (note: this template is just the first stage in the transformation. I'm working on further templates as the base creature mutates more and more) |

If I attack with both, do I get 2d4 damage (if I'm medium)? If I have something constricted, can I attack other things with my other weapons? And what's the LA? |
| Fox Reeveheart07-28-07, 10:03 AM | Well if this was BESM you could have a japanese school girl... and... the tentacles... you know what this belongs in the mature thread when talking about tentacles >.> |
| Mark_Aged07-28-07, 10:56 AM | What's BESM? And how do you get to the mature thread? Do you have to be 18 or older? |
| Asra07-28-07, 11:42 AM | I'm 18 or older and even I can't find the fabled Mature Boards(Not that I've looked that much). BESM stands for Big Eyes Small Mouth. Its an anime based P&P RPG Game. The joke is that there are many tentacles in uhh... err... certain anime. |

Well, yes, I got the joke...I may as well have made the joke, why do you think I'm asking for tentacles in the first place?* *j/k |
