I was wondering if someone could either help me think up stats or point me in the direction of some stats for my favorite race from oblivion in D&D terms.

I always just thought of them as Lizardfolk, but bigger. That could be an easy way to start. I don't have Oblivion, so my knowledge of them is limited to Morrowind. When I find my manual to see what they had bonuses to, I'll check back.

Well, we did a brief approximation of them here: http://seankreynolds.com/boardskr/viewtopic.php?t=1915

It's a very simplified version, but they basically came out as:

Medium Humanoid (Aquatic, Reptilian)
Amphibious
+1 Natural Armor
+2 Racial bonus to saving throws vs Disease and Poison
Base Speed 30'
Swim Speed 30'

With LA +0. The problem, as noted in the thread, is that the actual TES portrayal would require an LA, and that's generally undesirable.

I don't have the files on me, but just google "d20 Tamriel" or any combination of "d&d, d20, Elder Scrolls, Tamriel" and you'll get tons of links to harvest.

NOTE: I mean no offense, it's merely an opinion, and a suggestion to buy Daggerfall/Morrowind.

You thought about buying the other elder scrolls games? Oblivion isn't that good, and they basically whizzed all over lore(Imperials were(except for architecture, which is basically like in OB) always mostly based on ancient rome, right down to their armor and weapons, and cyrodill was always covered in rainforest. It was not 13th century central Europe.

Also, they tried to make it some damn high fantasy like "THE GODS BLAH BLAH BLAH AND WE'RE CONFISCATING ALL DEPTH AND PERSONALITY AND EVRYTHING ELSE INTERESTING FROM EVERYTHING THAT'S NOT DIVINE" as opposed to the cooler, more low fantasy daggerfall/morrowind/redguard.

And they did that damnable fixed levels so that you can kill anything at level one. And they made everything lack depth and basically have a built-in walkthrough. It takes more than pretty graphics and a block button to impress me.

Anyway, to your question, it depends on what breed of argonian you want to make.

A argonian would need to have immunity to poison and disease, also they would have water-breathing.
+2 to alchemy checks,+2 to jump and climb,+ 4 to swim checks.-2 to str. +2 to con.swim movement of 30'. Level Adjustment of +1

does this look OK?

Me smart,yes?

I toyed with the idea of running a elderscrolls d&d game, but like I said,it ruined my life, really. If I converted the world to d20 would meen that I would have to play it around the clock and that would suck.:D :( :D

> -2 to str. +2 to con

Uh, male argonians in TES have reduced willpower, endurance, and personality, and increased agility and speed. Female argonians trade off some more physical ability for higher intelligence and willpower. I've no idea how you get -2 Str/+2 Con out of that.

ugg, none of the Elderscrolls games passed Daggerfall (and I'm willing to bet even Daggerfall didn't stay consistently with Arena's lore in places) are really consistent lore wise (I can't comment on Redguard actually). Morrowind also made a lot of changes to the lore which was presented in the previous games. Oblivion is far from the only "offender".
Anyhow Morrowind seems more high fantasy to me than Oblivion. Morrowind was more bizzarre and otherworldy, Oblivion is a little more real world looking (the majority of game, which was spent in Cyrodill, clearly not the realm of Oblivion itself).

I'd give Argonians what Neutronium_Dragon did, though I don't think the natural armor is necessary, they don't have any natural armor in the Elder Scrolls games, not in Oblivion or Morrowind anyways.

However they should also get a skill bonus of some sort. In the Elder Scrolls game, all the races get a lot of skill bonuses, which aren't really directly translatable into D20, but perhaps something like open lock +2 (because they get a bonus to security), and either knowledge arcana, spellcraft, or use magical device +2, since they get a number of bonuses to magic skills. If there were some D20 equivlent to athletics I'd give them that as well.

You could also give them a +2 to dexterity or intelligence and a -2 to either charisma or constitution if you wanted to, perhaps along with a slightly faster speed. Argonians highest attributes are agility and speed (for males) and intelligence (for females), their lowest are personality and endurance for both genders.

I admit, you'd be right on that, seeing as Daggerfall did a bad job at portraying character race.

Also, Redguard's pretty much right on track. And I meant Morrowind's lower fantasy because it's mostly about politics than messing around with Sheogorath(although that's there, too. I mean the non divine lore is actually important in MW and the previous ones.), unlike OB which has very little, the non divine lore is basically an afterthought.

And OB basically has a built-in walkthrough.

That sounds good.
