The race is slightly underpowered compared to the Human, so they wouldn't be overpowered by this addition. - Lousy Leadership, A chobit can not take the leadership feat, animal companion, familiar, mount or other related features, they are followers not leaders Again, the race is slightly underpowered compared to the Human, so they wouldn't be overpowered by an additional ability. |
| Grizzled Gryphon12-12-07, 07:52 AM | I don't know if the Chobits are underpowered. They can pick which stat to have boosted by two, and which to have lowered by two. That is VERY impressive. Plus they get a bonus feat at first level. AND they have lowlight vision. The only thing a human has on them is they get more skill points, can be leaders, can breed, and can be male. Those last three, in game mechanics, mean little. These guys are a strong LA 0, maybe a weak LA +1. The Lousy Leadership is kind of wonky, though. What is a "leadership quality"? Does this mean if you make a Chobit Warblade, they couldn't use the White Raven techniques? This is hard to define, as you have to be very careful how you word it. If you say it wrong, this will be too much. If you leave it as is, it is way too weak. While the listed character options they can't have are a good start, I would expand it a bit. I wouldn't allow this race to be Paladins, for example. Just some things to consider. Why did the alchemist guild make these Chobits, anyway? Just curious. |

| Grizzled Gryphon12-12-07, 04:03 PM | Interesting. I ran a game once where the party comes across a Caravan being attacked by a horde of bandits. The players note how many gaurds this caravan has, which is a lot more than usual. Anyway, the guards are obviously losing, so the players jump in to help. During the fight, the rest of the Caravan people get killed, and some of the bandits make off with a few of the wagons. When the fight s finally over, there are a few wagons left, bu no one from the caravan. When the players investigate, they find that two of the three wagons have textiles (nothing of great value) and the other wagon is locked six ways to sunday!! When the finally open the wagon, they find what appears to be a coffin, except it doesn't have any kind of death motif. It also isn't somber, like every other coffin in the world. It also radiates strong magic. Evcentually, the coffin is found not to be a coffin at all, but a stasis chamber. There is a small glass plate over the face that can be uncovered, and inside is the most beautiful face they have ever seen. When they open the box, they find a nude female of exquisite beauty inside. Also upon opening it, the female awakes. She immediately becomes VERY affectionate to the first male she see. Nothing seems to break this, either. Long story short, she was a created human that was a peace offering from one kingdom to another. There were many that didn't want this peace to happen, so the kingdom sending this gift tried to hide it in the caravan. It led to many, many adventures. |
