| Roy_Kramka04-08-08, 08:13 PM | Does anyone know what the life span of an assimar is? Starting age, middle age, so on and so forth would be great, too.:D Thanks in advance. |
| Jaxgaret04-08-08, 08:23 PM | Aasimar. |
| BugHunter04-08-08, 09:22 PM | They use the same age, height and weight as a human according to the FRCS. There is also information in the Planar Handbook on page 18. |
| betrayor04-10-08, 10:05 PM | Find Planar Handbook or races of destiny. Both have the statistics you want about the aasimar. I don't think that is allowed to post them here because it is not open content. If was allowed i would post them. |
| runestar04-10-08, 10:36 PM | Same as human. |
| betrayor04-11-08, 01:02 PM | Same as human. Err... No they are not the same as human. well from Planar handbook: They reach adulthood at 15 midlle age at 45 old age at 68 and their maximum is +3d20. So you see that they are quite longer lived than humans. But their physical charecteristics(height, ect) are the same with humans. |

That sounds pretty much the same as humans to me. Max age of 128 if you roll 3 nat 20s - which is going to be extremely rare (1 in 8000, or .00125%). Plus you can roll 3 d20s for your max age but die of something else (disease, starvation, being chopped or blown to bits, etc.) before you reach that number, which makes it that much more rare to live that long. The oldest humans to ever live were 120+ years old, and there are a fair number of documented humans who have lived 115+ years. |
| betrayor04-11-08, 02:52 PM | I said that they are not the same not that they are not similar. Yes i know i was nitpicking..... |

I know this isn't scientific, but Methuselah lived to be 969 years old, and some other pre-flood Old Testament characters lived almost as long. The easy answer to your question on Aasimars (I Love Aasimars) is to check out the PSCS3e, chapter 2 which details such things. It's available free at Planewalker.com . Here's a link to the site where you can find it: http://planewalker.com/downloads/products/released.php Or to the chapter itself: http://planewalker.com/downloads/products/files/chapter2.pdf It should help you I hope. It's definitive, if not totally canonical. :) Have a great day!! |

| Bujio04-11-08, 10:59 PM | I believe there is an entire chapter in Genesis on the subject of who begat whom and for how long each lived. ;) There is. I was just pointing out my favorite. He was the oldest, see. :p |
| ciaran04-12-08, 12:53 PM | Methuselah, who "walked with god." I wonder if that means he was in an adventuring party with his Aspect? :D |
| pigknight04-12-08, 12:59 PM | Well everyone needs a cleric. |
| ciaran04-12-08, 01:26 PM | What level spell is Summon BLT? |
| pigknight04-12-08, 06:26 PM | 9th, 'cause you need to cast Miracle, 'cause a BLT is one. |

I was going off races of faerun, which simply says to use the same age categories as a human. |

Elan cloistered cleric x/contemplative 9... Possibly with Oracle 6 for leaving for unearthly places/heavenly realms... since he could see it was going to hit the fan... ...it was funnier in my head. |
| ciaran04-13-08, 11:38 AM | Cloistered Cleric is great. You can hide in the back with the wizard! "I'm not going up there in a chain shirt! Tell the fighter to drag that rogue back here!" |

| Bauglir04-13-08, 11:56 AM | There's a pun dying to be made here. There really is. On-topic, see the above post for the correct answer. |
| Evil DM Mk304-13-08, 12:22 PM | What pun. The guy already made it in the title. And demonstrated why Celestial will be a much better name... |
| runestar04-13-08, 10:12 PM | What pun. The guy already made it in the title. And demonstrated why Celestial will be a much better name... That and aasimar is misspelled... I guess it is second only to rouge...:P |
| Roy_Kramka04-14-08, 12:23 AM | *aasimar* I should try to be less dumb than I am. Thanks for answering the question despite my faux pas. :banghead: |
| zeratulcraft04-14-08, 12:28 AM | I know this isn't scientific, but Methuselah lived to be 969 years old, and some other pre-flood Old Testament characters lived almost as long. The years were calculated differently in the times those novels were written. |
| teshen04-15-08, 01:11 AM | The years were calculated differently in the times those novels were written. nov·el–noun 1. a fictitious prose narrative of considerable length and complexity, portraying characters and usually presenting a sequential organization of action and scenes. Are you trying to be inflammitory? Archealogy has proven that many events mentioned did happen. So unless you know of that which you speak, don't talk about it. If you do know what you're talking about, take it someplace else where you can. I stop here because, going this route, heads into CoC territory. |
| Bujio04-15-08, 01:44 AM | ... I was just trying to say that the life span was unusually large, even if it turns out that time was counted differently. At the point in time those texts were written the time was typically counted on a 12 or 13 month lunar calender of 28 days each. Most years would have 12 months in it with the odd "Leap Year" having 13 months. Those years were rare, but were their solution to the leap year problem we have today. Instead of adding a day every for years, they would add a month every 14 years or something like that. The odd thing to me is that they KNEW about the necessity of having a leap year even back then. But yeah, calender records survive. :) Back to the topic...I really like Aasimar. I think they should have a slightly better lifespan because of their Divine heritage, but that's just me to be fair. I would give them a wee bit of an advantage over regular humans regardless of what the official tables say. I'm the DM. I have Rule 0. :) |

In this case I misunderstood, and I apologize. |
