12-01-07, 07:40 PM Hello everyone. I am a new DM and i desided to create a new race for my players that would have great speed but i am not sure if i made it correctly. I am posting now what i have so far and i would apriciate it if you could give me your advises. Thx:D :D :D :D

Atrix

Atrix Racial traits

Low-Light vision, Dark Vision 60ft,
DEX: +3
WIS: +2
CHA: +2
Base land speed: 50ft
Automatic Languages: Common, Atrix
Bonus Languages: Any
Favorite Class: Rogue (+1 skill points per level)
Level Adjustment: +1

Special Abilities

Extreme Speed (Ex): An Atrix can, as a full round action, attack a target using double his base land speed for an additional 1d6 damage of his primary weapon, cosign him to be fatigued for 1d4 rounds.

Sprint (Ex): Three times per day, an Atrix can move five times its normal speed (250 feet) when it makes a charge.

Atrix has a +2 bonus in Hide checks and a +1 on Search and Disarm Trap checks.

Description

Atrix is an artificial race created by Alchemists and Mages to be stealth fighters. At some point for unknown reasons they acquired intelligence and rebelled against their creators seeking their freedom. In the war that followed many of the Atrix was destroyed so at this point their numbers are very small making it very difficult to see one.

Appearance

Atrix males are muscular and taller than the females for approximately 50 inch. The appearance of an Atrix defers from one to the other. Their hair and eye color could be any of the Rainbow colors. Their height and weight is that of a normal human but more muscular and balanced. Atrix life circle is unknown for the time being, some say they live for ages even far passing the Elven lifespan.

Personality

Atrix males tend to be very sirius and keeping to themselves most of the time, wile the females tend to be very open and joyful.

Relations with other Races

Atrix get along with all races except Orcs that they think to be very low intelligent and brutal. They are often found in human societies using their skills to make a profit usually by steeling although many settle down and create small shops selling valuable goods like gems and magical items.

Deities

As an artificial race Atrix do not have a pantheon of their own, so they chose a Deity according to the place they originate or their class specified.

As a general rule, you want ability score bonuses and penalties to be even numbers.

The Extreme Speed special ability and 50 ft. base speed are a bit much, I mean the two together seem like they would make this an LA +1.

I also have a questions,

What do you mean by "+1 ability points per level", do you mean Skill point, Ability (ex. Strength), or other?

Well i read about the bonus and penalties in the DMG so i though that if i give it a +3 on DEX i should make a sum at 2 others so 2+1=3.

Now for the LA+1 i don't think that would be a problem becouse i am going to start my adventure at LVL 5. As for the +1 point i meant +1 skill points for Climb, disarm trap etc. I miss typed that so thnx for the notice.

Anything else that you think i should change or is it ok to try it on a table?

That's not how it works. It has to be on even quantities--otherwise it does not have the intended effect.

So if i make it Dex +4 WIS -4 it will be balanced if i get it correctly right? And where can i find that Cheetah's ability to take a look? Sorry but i just started DMing and i am not that good at this yet.

As for the Cheetah ability i find it a good idea although not that fast becouse my race is humanoid so i will probably get it to five times his base land speed.

12-06-07, 10:20 AM Ok i added the edited by me version of Sprint Ability and removed the penalties because i thought that an artificial Race that lives for that long don't need that. I am certain that i saw one race in one of the books that has no penalties and no LA but i cant remember witch one. I also made the changes Green so you can see what i have changed.

Plz tell me what you think and if you would play a Race like that if you was a player. Thnx allot.
