Averal and Leonal [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-14-07, 07:59 PM I was wondering (and hoping) wether anybody had made, be intrested in making, a Leonal and Averal with minmal LA

Sorry I didn't just do this myself
But I would have screwed it up big time

You could take the Half-Celestial template, break it down, and tailor make to simulate such creatures. It's a bit of work, and might not achieve the effects you are looking for though.

That could work
But I'l save that untill it's defenate that I wont be able to get Leonal and averal playable races

03-14-07, 10:06 PM The leonal probably won't cut it as a playable race simply because the ECL involved would be too high. They're listed as 20th level equivalent in the BoED, which means you'd be pushing into epic territory as soon as you added even one class level.

You'd probably do better to take the anthropomorphic lion from Savage Species and add the Celestial template if you want a version that's playable at relatively reasonable levels.

03-14-07, 11:00 PM There is also the "Manimal" template from Advanced Bestiary by Green Ronin. Then you can add the Celestial template afterwards also. Basically you get an anthropomorphic animal that has the intelligence of a regular person (around 10) and the same HD as the animal it came from and a minimal LA (+1 to +3 usually).
