Azer Half Dragon(Silver) Fighter [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-27-07, 12:02 PM Hi, I am fairly new at DnD and even newer at this. I am making a character as stated Azer Half Dragon(Silver) Fighter. I have about everything I need but I am having trouble finding information on the Azer. The MM says Special Attack(see above): Heat. Which says Heat (Ex): An azer's body is intensely hot, so its unarmed attacks deal extra fire damage. Its metallic weapons also conduct this heat. No details though on how much.(?)

It also doesn't give any weight or information like that. It says it resembles a dwarf. Do I use a dwarf's stats.

Third and final question. As an azer, it says he begins with two levels of outsider, which provide 2d8 Hit Dice. Which with my half dragon takes that up to to d10. My question is on my character sheet under Hit Dice would that be 2d10 or 1d10. My DM has played DnD for awhile, but is new at DM so it didn't make sense to me that he said 1d10. I just wanted to make sure. Thanks!

05-27-07, 03:05 PM For the Heat ability, look at the entry with the azer's attacks in it. You will probably see something like Spear 1d8+2, +1d6 fire damage. The fire or heat damage listed will be shown as something like this.

As to the hit dice, is the entry for the number of hit dice or the size? You will still have two racial hit dice, each one will be a D10.

I have to wonder, if both you and your DM are new to D&D, why you are starting with such a complex character. Your base ECL must be pretty high as well, so either you are going to be starting with a very high-powered game (also not reccomended for a new DM) or you are going to have very few HP compared to the rest of your party.

Personally, I would pick a more mundane character with a lower level adjustment. I'm not even sure how a half silver dragon Azer comes about. A creature with fire vulnerability breeding with a creature that continually radiates fire?

I'm just hoping it isn't a calculated attempt to get a character invulnerable to both fire and cold damage.
