| golden_dragon10-25-07, 05:43 PM | I need help! My group is a lvl 2 ranger and a lvl 3 druid. The ranger is into ranged weapons and the druid likes to summon. What kind of barbarian should help them out? And what race would benefit the barbarian in this situation?:help: |

Most barbarians with a spiritual bend wouldn't mind fighting beside a powerful druid, particularly an adherent of a religion that they themselves believe in. It's like a crusader adventuring alongside a priest, only the priest is a decent fighter as well. As for the ranger... a scout and a hunter is always useful to have. Mechanically, you will probably be the "tank" of the outfit - the druid can summon some ok creatures, but a) it takes a round (not a full-round action) and b) especially at higher levels, these creatures don't pack a strong enough punch (making them temporary meatshields at best) Therefore, both the ranger and the druid can benefit from a companion who has impressive offensive power. The standard barbarian races should be okay - human or dwarf (or maybe half-orc) from the PHB, others (neanderthal, dragonborn, krinth) depending on the setting and books involved. |
