Best Bard people [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-17-07, 03:38 PM I'm no expert or anything, but i'm guessing that the race for a bard is the gnome or human.

However, there might be a more suitable race out there that I'm not familiar with.

well nymphs will lose all those caster levels and perform ranks...

What kind of bard do you want to be? Are you looking to supplement your spell-casting, your charisma, or your bardic abilities or just something good for role playing? How important are those caster levels?
Race with or without LA?

I agree that a nymph would be fun, but she might get torn up more if a fight breaks out
Half-fey probably deserves to be looked at as well.

uh, excuse me, i must have a frog in my throat :-D. why not check out the half-fiend variant succubus. +16 cha with only +4 LA

11-18-07, 01:33 AM Well, I play a lot of Bards myself and find the Human to flow the smoothest. But, in a Green Ronin book called Bastards and Bloodlines: Guide to the half-breeds, there is a race called the "Houri" which is a Elf/Nymph hybrid. +8 CHA, +2 INT, +2 WIS, +2 DEX, plus nymph and elf traits. That makes a pretty powerful Bard race I think.....but then again, it is a third party book.
