| Freethink04-19-07, 11:14 AM | Greetnings, I would be very interested into creating a warmage/dread necromancer gestalt, and I would appreciate kind expert advice into picking up the best LA (no racial hit dice) combo of template and race for this character type. Desired features would be IMO at least +2 bonuses to Cha, Dex, Con (and/or Int), *at will* abilities that complement the combat spell specialization of the gestalt (such as flight, charm person, change shape), and some substantial defensive bonuses (such as natural armor, fast healing, DR, multiple energy resistences). I would prefer up to LA +3, so it can be complely bought off in due time with LA buyoff rules. Multiple race/template stacking is fine, as long as it is legal and makes some flimsy sense (e.g. it is theoretically possible to have a distant ancestor of one supernatural heritage, and a parent of another one). Possibly immortal or long-lived for flavor, chaotic and neutral/evil leaning. I did some homework with my books, and found as possible candidates, some possible candidates for combination leapt to my eyes: Spellscales, gnome, elf, catfolk, chaos gnome, draconic, feytouched, half-fey, fey'ri, half-vampire, changeling (tieflings, while very flavourful, have a Cha penalty, so are a no-no, and aasimar are too good-leaning). My best candidates so far are Draconic Half-Vampire Changeling or Elf (+4 Cha, +2 Dex, +2 Con, good slew of stacking defensive bonuses, dragonblood subtype, charm person and minor change shape at will) and Half-Fey Chaos Gnome (long-lived, flight at will, charm person at will, + 6 (!) Cha, + 4 (!) Dex, no Con penalty, set of SLA enchantment powers, sadly lich transformation is barred). Your suggestions and opinions ? |
