i'v created a new lizardfolk. wat do you tink about it?

Blue Scale Lizardfolk
• Medium: As Medium creatures, Blue scales have no special
bonuses or penalties due to their size.
• Aquatic: Blue scales are aquatic Lizardfolks, and have the
aquatic and Reptilian subtypes.
• Amphibious (Ex): Blue scales can breathe water or air equally
well, without limitation.
• Blue scales base land speed is 30 feet. Blue scales base swim
speed is 30 feet. Blue scales have a +8 racial bonus on any
Swim check to perform some special action or avoid a
hazard. They can always choose to take 10 on a Swim
check, even if distracted or endangered. Blue scales can use
the run action while swimming, provided they swim
in a straight line.
• Flying fish leap: A Blue scale gains Flying fish leap as a bonus feat.
• Automatic Languages: Common, Draconic. Bonus Languages:
Aquan.
• Favored Class: Any.
• LA: +0

I'll reply to yours if you reply to mine, okay? ;)

Are those the full racial abilities of the blue-scaled lizardfolk? If so, they don't even resemble lizardfolk mechanically. That's okay, though. Look at the drow vs the half-drow, ostensibly related races with at least as few similarities as lizardfolk to blues.

For a campaign based in or close to the water, this looks like a nicely built race. For other campaigns, though, it's a bit too overly specialized to offer any advantages to a player choosing a race.

Without knowing what "Flying Fish Leap" actually does I can't be sure, but looking at it it seems fine as is. I don't agree with the above that you need to slap ability modifiers on there. There's nothing wrong with having a non-human race without them.

Most if not all do, and for a good reason.

There is some truth to this. Racial ability modifiers help distinguish a race as fundamentally different from humans, which serve as the basis by which races are gauged. However, it is also not so unreasonable to assume a race can be on equal footing with humans.

I would personally probably give them a mod anyway, probably +2 dex -2 Wis, or something similar.

I like lizardfolk. I have one problem with this and it is a personal opinion. I do not believe they should be of the Aquatic subtype. Increase their Hold Breath(Ex): ability and and maybe some adaptations like real lizards that spend their time in the water. You could build a really neat deep sea culture in which they have built underwater communities either from air filled underwater caves or a magic/technology they have.

Again just me.

Because it's a relatively lazy way to try to differentiate them from humans.

Developing racial abilities which differentiate them from humans without resorting to ability modifiers takes more effort, but it's apt to produce a more interesting and thematically fitting result - and in turn one which is less inclined to pigeonhole them into particular roles or slap a big "do not bother" sign on many classes.

I would change their favored class from any as well... try something like druid, fighter, rogue or... something.

If you want no LA races that can live underwater, check out Stormwracked, mechanically, this lizardfolk is just like the Aventi. I would give it a level adjustment, some natural armor and a couple of stat changes +2 Dex, -2 Wis to make them more unique. Of course, you can keep them as they are for a campaign and they have some nice flavor.

Thats just me though.

This race seems a tad bit far-fetched, and nothing like Lizardfolk.
Also, why would a lizardfolk have "Flying Fish Leap"?

I wouldn't make them amphibious, as they are lizards. I don't know, something about an amphibian reptile bothers me.
I would just give them an extremely high hold breath, so they can stay underwater for an hour or more without taking a breath, and I would also give them a natural armor bonus and stat penalties to intelligence, charisma and wisdom to balance an increase in strength and dex, I imagine human sized lizards swimming through water to be very physically daunting and dextrous.

Also, and don't take this personally, but Lizardfolk in general are highly aquatic as it is and they often times build lairs in underwater caves, etc...
I don't really, overall, see a need for a purely aquatic lizardfolk when they are already aquatic as it is, really.
