Oh, and dwarves make very good combat clerics because of their high Constitution and useful racial abilities.

03-02-07, 07:33 AM I would recommend one of the following three races for a cleric:
1.Human
Pros: Bonus skill points and bonus feat are very welcome for a class that lacks both.
Cons: none

2. Dwarf
Pros: You get +2 con and the whole array of nice combat oriented bonuses that this race offers.
Cons: -2 cha makes it harder for you to turn undead.

3. Asimar
Pros: +2 wis, +2 cha and as an outisder you get proficiency with all martial weapons, which the cleric is lacking.
Cons: LA+1

Warrior Cleric (As much at home on the Battle field as in a Church).
Healer Cleric (Devoted to healing others).
Caster Cleric (Focus on casting Divine spells).
Zealot Cleric (Always trying to convert others, always telling others they are worshiping the wrong god).

03-02-07, 03:50 PM In Races of Fayrune the elven Avorial is very good for cleric but has a ECL of 4 dut the bennys are real good for the price

03-02-07, 11:19 PM Unless you're doing a very special build (such as a cleric archer) or a "concept" build, human.

If you're going for a cleric archer, often elf is better. Anything with an LA = bad.
