Seraphex 12-11-07, 12:34 PM	Hello everyone ^^. Yeah this is my first real custom race... So it's kept simple. The concept is simply a race of secluded, psionic elves. Why? Because I want to make a psion... And I like elves... Crystal Elves (Drawing coming as soon as I feel like it.) Racial traits: Dex: +2 Int: +2 Str: -2 Con: -2 Crystal Elves are agile and intelligent, but they are as frail as their High brethren and not as strong as most other races. Size: Medium Base land speed: 30ft Extraplanar subtype. Elven traits: Immunity to sleep, +2 on saves against enchantment. Superior Low-Light vision (x3) Naturally Psionic: Crystal Elves receive 1 bonus power points at first level. Psi-like abilities: 1/day Empathy (Manifester level 1/2 HD) +2 racial bonus on Listen, Spot, Search. Like High Elves, Crystal Elves' senses are so keen that they practically have a sixth sense about secret portals. Automatic Languages: Common, Elven. Bonus Languages: Aquan, Auran, Celestial, Draconic, Ignan, Sylvan, Undercommon. Crystal Elves can learn most outsider languages because they are closer to outsiders than to the normal races. Favorite Class: Psion (Wizard in non-psionic campaigns) Level Adjustment: +0 Description Crystal Elves are a subrace of the normal elves, and live mostly on some of the outer planes. Because of this most of them have no ties to the other normal races, even the other elves, whatsoever. Physically they look more or less like High Elves only slightly frailer. Their hair colors are mostly pale shades varying from reddish to blueish. All Crystal Elves have silver eyes, with splinters of all kinds of random colors, that seem to shift with the light. Personality Crystal Elves tend to be calm and resolved, sometimes even taciturn. Though most of them are neutral sometimes a Crystal Elf can be sadistic and ruthless. Other Races Crystal Elves don't really have a special disposition to other races, mostly because they have seperated themselves from normal society. Only their fierce hatred of Orcs, a general elf thing, is still standing. On top of this they also dislike Demons and Devils. Deities Crystal Elves mostly revere Elf Gods and Gods connected to celestial bodies (like the moon). Please criticize... EDIT: K, edited the low light vision, power points and added the extraplanar subtype. I'll probably draw some Crystal Elves tommorow during French or Math classes ^^. Thanks for the advice!
Aleolus 12-11-07, 01:04 PM	Looks good. Elves are one of my favorite races, though I think Psionics are one of the most broken expansions for D&D. So I'm sort of torn on this, but it looks good mechanically speaking.
HernetheHunter 12-11-07, 01:31 PM	From what I've seen most naturally psionic races have just 1 bonus PP, so I would make that change. And Low-light Vision that goes over the normal 2x better than humans has been referred to as Superior Low-light Vision. Depending on how long the race has been on another plane you may want to attach the Extraplanar subtype. Otherwise good.
