determining a dragonborns age [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm a noob to D&D only played about 3-4 times, I'm making a new char, and I need some help.

For the sub race Dragonborn all it says about determining age is (and I quote)...

Age: After a dragonborn undergoes the Right of Rebirth, she emerges as an adult creature regardless of her previous age. If she lives for 200 years (see Table 1-1, page 10), she enters middle age.

Also

AGE
A dragonborn character is reborn, losing any bonuses or penalties she recieved because of her age. She emerges from her transformation as an adult. Dragon born are hearty and capable of living long lives. Due to their perilous fight against the spawn of Taimat, however most die young.

Table 1-1: Dragonborn Aging Effects

Race Dragon- born
Middle Age- 200 years
Old- 300 years
Venerable- 400 years
Maximum Age- +2d% years

The book never specifies ,to my knowledge, what the age an adult dragon born is only middle age, old, etc... So ... What is it's starting age? the age at which the original race reaches adulthood?

11-20-07, 01:37 PM Seeing as a dragonborn is an individual transformed from another race, the "starting age" of an individual dragonborn is the age of the individual at the time it was transformed to dragonborn. In fact, your DM might even rule that a dragonborn "starts" play at 0 years old, representing the fact that the transformation ritual starts the dragonborn's life cycle anew.
