was wondering if anyone knew the formulas to turn monsters into characters. I was hoping to play something primal such as a dinosaur.

You can't.

A monster must have an Int score of 3 or higher in order to be a character.

If you were to Awaken the dinosaur, then it would be viable.

To determine the stats, subtract 10 or 11 (from even or odd scores, respectively) from the scores given in its entry.

Calculate out the BaB, saves, and skill points as appropriate for an Animal with the racial HD it has, and don't forget that it gains two more HD from the Awaken spell.

Keep natural armor, speed, and the attacks as they are (although the latter is affected by the strength score).

Obrysii is right. However, if you want to play a dinosaur-like race I'd suggest being a saurial. They can be found here:

The Dinosaur Menagerie thread in the Monsters board has some awakened dinosaur races I've been slowly working on.
