Does anyone know the LA for the Vampire Lord Template? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm sure its been asked, but I couldn't find it.

Does anyone know the level adjustment for the Vampire Lord template from Monster Mayhem? Also, are there any 3.5 updates on this?

Probably another +6 or more tacked on top of the LA +8 for being a Vampire. So easily LA +14 in total, if not more.

it can be +4 or even +3 (concidering the +8 LA of the Vampire the total LA is still very high)

no matter how high the LA is, obrysii is right that a Vampire Lord is uplayable. The only way is to agrre with your mates so that everybody uses a race with really high LA's

04-09-07, 08:23 PM DnD's vamp template is crappy anyway, i suggest making your own and working on it that way.

in that link u can find the Vampire Lord's CR
LA is usually higher than the CR
(eg Vampire: LA is +8 and CR is +2 i think)

On a side note, in checking with my MM 3.5, the Sample Vampire has a CR 7, LA +5, 5th lvl human fighter. The Sample Elite Vampire is CR 15, LA +8, and 13th lvl half-elf monk/shadowdancer. What's with the LA +5 Sample Vampire as opposed to LA +8? Did I miss something? Why aren't they both listed as LA +8:confused:

Also, to the original poster, have you tried checking with the Ravenloft 3.5 book? Gives increases and salient abilities by age, if that might be of use to you. So other useful options, IIRC.
