| Izan09-05-07, 01:48 PM | I came across the dragonborn in a previous forum thread but since I don't own the book of dragon races. I was curious, whats the difference in a dragonborn opposed to a half dragon? |
| Templario09-05-07, 04:14 PM | Wow, there is a LOT of them. I recommend you to read the races of the dragon book! the half-dragon characteristics can by found here: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/halfDragon.htm |
| KurenaiYami09-05-07, 04:24 PM | They really have very little in common. |
| Fireclave09-05-07, 04:59 PM | Dragonborn and the half-dragon template are two completely different beasts. Here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20060105b&page=1) is the preview for the dragonborn to get you up to speed, but should should read Races of the Dragon to get the complete mechanics and fluff. |
| Kesthol09-05-07, 07:09 PM | basically, a dragonborn is a creature converted to platinum dragonism by bahamut, while a half-dragon is born into dragonism of the appropriate color. |

IMO, the Dragonborn are nothing more than Half-Platinum Dragons created through a magical ritual passed down to the recipient by Bahamut himself. ;) |

| Courrain09-08-07, 01:10 PM | Effectively, yes. Mechanically, very much no. True. While the Dragonborn are like Half-Dragons, they are more like a watered down version of the latter. |
