Long time ago dragons were curious and wanted a race that had pure dragon blood but with human size... boy was that a fun project! so after 3000 years of arcane breeding the did what they set out to do... thus Dragonians were born!

Racial stuff

Humanoid (dragon blooded)

Medium size

+2 CHA, +2 STR, -2 DEX

Natural weapons:Bite (1d6) and claws (1d4)

Base land Speed 30ft

Fly speed 20ft

Breath weapon (2d6) of any true dragon (or if DM lets you any dragon)

Natural armor +3

Auto Languages: Common and Draconic

Bonus languages: any

LA +1

03-31-08, 11:20 PM Looks like a +2 LA race to me. The flight isn't too incredible, but it IS a bit inappropriate for a +1 ECL race (as in, it won't make the race +2 ECL by itself, but it should be included in at least a +2 ECL race unless it is modified from its current form)

In addition, the +3 natural armor is a GREAT ability that further fleshes out the +2 LA, the non-scaling breath weapon is a decent filler for lower levels, and the suite of 3 natural weapons makes for a feature that is inherently decent and can be made fairly potent if concentrated upon.

Perhaps 2 dragon HD and +1 LA would be appropriate. Dragon hitdice are just about the best type of hitdice, and I assume this race (being essentially just a heavily selectively bred breed of "toy" dragons) is of the Dragon type. Still, losing 2 levels of class features hurts, almost as much as losing another whole character level to a LA, so I think the 2 HD would be a less harsh form of +2 LA in this case.

IMO, its kind of weak. It's not powerful enough to warrant a +2 LA, but I think it's more powerful than a +1 LA race. You could give it Dragon HD (the best of all) and give it +1 LA. You also might want to check out the dragonborn. And perhaps you should add some ability modifiers, too. +2 in Str, Con and Cha, for instance. And why not low-light vision or darkvision, or both?

compared to the cat folk, I say this with a -2 to dex is a solid and worth-while LA +1.
