natzero 08-14-07, 01:17 PM	ok i know its been said that true dragons do not gain the ill effects of age but do however gain the mental benefits. (ie. -0 str/dex/con, +1 wis/int/cha) i know its spoken quite often as a rule but was it ever published in wotc lit? i have checked the phb under age and under dragon in the mm. i also dont remember seeing it in the RoD, can any1 lend me any insight as to my dilemma? thanks

rampant 08-14-07, 01:33 PM	Yeah about that, dragons do not age in the manner of other life forms. A couple centuries after achieving the status of Greatwyrm (dependant on variety check draconomicon) they begin to loose constitution one point at a time every couple years or so until they die unless they become ascendants, gaurdians, undead, or somehow unlock the potencial to become Advanced Greatwyrms. The chart in the PHB doesn't apply to them at all.

True Dragons have their very own rules about aging: All true dragons gain more abilities and greater power as they age. (Other creatures that have the dragon type do not.) They range in length from several feet upon hatching to more than 100 feet after attaining the status of great wyrm. The size of a particular dragon varies according to age and variety. Category Age (Years) 1 Wyrmling 0–5 2 Very young 6–15 3 Young 16–25 4 Juvenile 26–50 5 Young adult 51–100 6 Adult 101–200 7 Mature adult 201–400 8 Old 401–600 9 Very old 601–800 10 Ancient 801–1,000 11 Wyrm 1,001–1,200 12 Great wyrm 1,201 or more
natzero 08-14-07, 01:48 PM	i meant it in the sense of dragon wrought kobold. and i found answer in races of dragon, just looked over it. age penalties dont effect kobolds but they get the mental bonuses yay old kobold +2 cha/wis/int and no str/dex/con penalty
