Anyone owning the Drow of the Underdark book be kind enough to answer a question for me.

Is there something in the book for drow being able to levitate as a spell like ability? They used to have it in 2ed and it still shows up in the literature I've read. Which isn't hard and fast rules by any means. I just kinda miss them having it.

There's a background feat for it, with an addon later feat, in the Forgotten Realms book "Races of Faerün" (p 164-165):

Highborn Drow
Prequisites: Drow, base Will Save +2
May use Detect Good, Detect Magic and Levitate once per day as spell-like abilites with Character class as Caster level.

Improved Levitation
Prequisites: Able to use Levitate as spell-like ability.
Allows you to divide up your Levitate duration over the day, in 10 minute pieces.

I thought drow levitated using house pendants, or at least thats how they do it in war of the spider queen.

That's right, they use emblems that give them a spell-like ability.

Ah, thanks Lord Zebb I'll have to go dig that book out. I never thought of looking in it.

As to radkins and el machinae. In second edition they could levitate once they hit lvl 4 or higher. Along with know alignment and detect magic. If they were a noble they could use those abilities multiple times per day. The house amulets could have levitate in them however it was not required.
