I want to use a drow a a LV 1 PC, but i need to know what to keep and what to take off to get that +2 LA off, any ideas.
I know that is not a great idea to mess with preset races, but i love drow.

Why not try the Lesser Drow?

(Lesser) Drow

+2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution: The lesser drow have ruthlessly selected for agility at the expense of hardiness over countless generations. These adjustments replace the ability adjustments given for elves in the Player's Handbook.

Darkvision: Lesser drow can see in the dark up to 60 feet. Darkvision is black and white only, but it is otherwise like normal sight, and lesser drow can function just fine with no light at all. This ability replaces the low-light vision noted for elves in the Player's Handbook.

Weapon Proficiency: Lesser drow are automatically proficient with the hand crossbow, rapier, and short sword. These proficiencies replace those of standard elves.

+2 racial bonus on Will saves against spells and spell-like effects.

Spell-Like Abilities: A lesser drow with a Charisma score of at least 10 has the following spell-like abilities: 1/day -- dancing lights, daze, touch of fatigue. Caster level equals the lesser drow's class levels.

Light Blindness: Abrupt exposure to bright light (such as sunlight or a daylight spell) blinds lesser drow for 1 round. On subsequent rounds, they are dazzled as long as they remain in the affected area.

Favored Class: Wizard (male) or cleric (female). This trait replaces the favored class entry for elves in the Player's Handbook.

EDIT: Whoops, wrong Clipboard data

There is a lesser drow in player's guide to faerun. They are like elves, but with light blindness, a racial bonus on saving throws against spells and the ability to cast a few cantrips.

All in all, I think the version Lappy9000 posted is fine for LA +0.

Getting rid of the Spell Resistance drow have takes care of about one level. Taking off the +2 Int and Cha gets you about half way to getting rid of the other level. Halving the darkvision and taking care of a few other things leaves you nicely at LA +0, and with all the abilities of the lesser drow posted above.

Another option to consider is the level adjustment buy-off (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/reducingLevelAdjustments.htm) from Unearthed Arcana. Of course, with a LA +2 race, you have to wait until 6th level to see any benifit, and 9th to completly remove the adjustment. This probably isn't good enough. However, if you want something half way, you could try to use a LA +1 drow (probably good enough to take the standard drow and drop the Spell Resistance), and use they LA buy-off at 3rd level. You'd see the results much more quickly this way, but you'd still be weak at levels 1 to 3.

Well Lappy9000 is violating the CoC by posting non-OGL content. The text is verbatum for lesser drow found in the Player's Guide to Faerun.

Actually, it can all be found at crystalkeep (http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/index.php). The lesser drow is on page 16 of the races PDF (http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/rules/DnD3.5Index-Races.pdf).

Actually, I got this one straight from an article on the Wizards.com website

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20040215a&page=2

Just do a Google search for Lesser Drow. First link; easy as pie.

P.S.
Thanks, RobbyPants

If you like all the drow abilities that you miss out on by using the lesser drow, why dont you try this method.

You gain all normal drow traits, but you get a -2 on the following:

-2 to all saves
-2 to all attack rolls
-2 to all skill checks
-2 to all ability checks

These penalties do not last forever. Once you gain a level, you become a level higher, and all the penalties are reduced to a -1 instead of -2. Once you gain your third level, there are no more penalties to worry about. This method can be applied to any race with a LA. But the exeption is, a race with the LA +1 only has -1 on all that stuff, and one with +3 has a -3. Whatever the level adjustment is is the number of levels the PC must gain before he or she loses all penalties.

You can find it on amazon. If not try Barnes 'n Noble.
