| bigsnarf07-10-07, 12:38 PM | If a human fighter with an intelligence of 6 starts with 4 skill points, what worth is he or she besides hitting stuff? If Joe the fighter is such a dumb a** why is he a fighter and not a warrior? |
| Yaeri07-10-07, 12:44 PM | It probably took a lot longer for him to study his books on swordwielding. ...? You don't have to make your Joe character a fighter if you don't want to. I'm not sure where you're going with this. Can you be more specific as to what you want from this thread? |
| TiwazTyrsfist07-10-07, 12:49 PM | Maybe he has a really high charisma and puts all his skill points bluff. Sure, he's dumb, but it only lends credence to his absurd claims. After all, if Joe says they're actually working for the duke and not robbing him, who's going to doubt him? He's to dumb to come up with such a good lie. |
| bigsnarf07-10-07, 12:51 PM | No, i should have put this on the "Im a idiot and should never play d&d" thread. Some folks need it spelled out for them for it to make sense, oops. |
| weasel007-10-07, 12:56 PM | wouldn't that be 5 skill points? 1 (minimum) + 4 Human bonus |
| The White Sorcerer07-10-07, 01:03 PM | If a human fighter with an intelligence of 6 starts with 8 skill points, what worth is he or she besides hitting stuff? If Joe the fighter is such a dumb a** why is he a fighter and not a warrior? If a human fighter with an Intelligence of 12 starts with 16 skill points, what worth is he or she besides hitting stuff? |

You need to spell out for us that you're an idiot and should never play dnd? That's really not true. If you're enjoying the game, you should play... you don't have to be very smart :) Anyway, I believe a human fighter with 6 intelligence would have 8 skill points at first level. A low Int can't reduce your base skill points below one per level (and four at 1st level), and since he's a human he gets one more (four more at 1st level). You can generally apply modifiers in the order most favorable for the character. |

Is there going to be a Dumb Fighters Handbook? a Complete Idiot supplement? |
| ItaraKoturo07-10-07, 02:12 PM | I am confused by this thread. |
| Jhaelen07-10-07, 04:24 PM | I am confused by this thread.I am not :) I'm just wondering when it will be shut down... However, since I am not offended by people telling everyone, they consider themselves to be idiots, I don't feel inclined to report it :) |
| Yaeri07-10-07, 04:34 PM | I am not :) Could you enlighten me? As ever since a certain post I've been wondering if I'm missing something blatantly obvious. :weep: |
| Meep32607-10-07, 05:13 PM | If a human fighter with an Intelligence of 12 starts with 16 skill points, what worth is he or she besides hitting stuff? If a Human Wizard with an Intelligence of 18 starts with 28 skill points what is she good for besides blowing stuff up? |
| Eragon_seer07-10-07, 05:23 PM | Touche the fact is that the fighter isnt good at anything beside hitting stuff with his sword, I mean thats what his class is designed to do, not fill the skill monkey roll. If you want a fighter with lots of skill points make one, or change the existing fighter so it has 4 per level its not that ground breacking. and of course there is always the option of playing a Gasp:eek: warblade |
| Manyfist07-10-07, 05:26 PM | Shouldn't this be in D&D General? |
| Thakowsaizmu07-10-07, 05:45 PM | My fighter is so stupid, he doesn't even know what skill points are, let alone how to use them. |
| emperor norton07-10-07, 07:33 PM | If a human fighter with an intelligence of 6 starts with 4 skill points, what worth is he or she besides hitting stuff? If Joe the fighter is such a dumb a** why is he a fighter and not a warrior? Take pride in hitting stuff. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming. |
| Tavatanuse07-10-07, 08:11 PM | I see possibility for a line of jokes here, cousin to Yo Momma is So Fat. Your fighter is so stupid, he got flanked by grassy knolls. Your fighter is so stupid, his shield says “This Side Up” Your fighter is so stupid, he carries extra shoes for his feats. Your fighter is so stupid, he took toughness six times. Your fighter is so stupid, he packs a dictionary so he can “counter spell”. Your fighter is so stupid, he saves money on Iron Rations by using real iron. |
| TiwazTyrsfist07-11-07, 02:32 AM | No, i should have put this on the "Im a idiot and should never play d&d" thread. Some folks need it spelled out for them for it to make sense, oops. I was trying to be helpful. But if you don't want helpful, fine. He can also serve as a 'Meat Shield', protecting the other characters. You could douse him in lamp oil, set him on fire, and use him to frighten away creatures that are afraid of fire. As above, only you could roast marshmallows over him. And he could be used if you run out of torches. Stupid Fighter == Emergency Rations. Does he have high strength? Make him carry things. Just my :twocents: |
| Damuna07-11-07, 02:43 AM | If a Human Wizard with an Intelligence of 18 starts with 28 skill points what is she good for besides blowing stuff up? If a half-elf bard with 14 intelligence starts with 32 skill points, what good is he besides prancing like a fool? And talking the pants off a barmaid? And filching goods? And making himself look like a human fighter with 6 intelligence? :D Your fighter is so stupid, his shield says “This Side Up” I once played with a fighter which had that. :) |
| Lawlicron07-11-07, 03:02 AM | Maybe he has a really high charisma and puts all his skill points bluff. Sure, he's dumb, but it only lends credence to his absurd claims. After all, if Joe says they're actually working for the duke and not robbing him, who's going to doubt him? He's to dumb to come up with such a good lie. Bluff is cross-class for fighters. Good luck actually pulling any of that off. |
| The Club07-11-07, 03:02 PM | If a Human Wizard with an Intelligence of 18 starts with 28 skill points what is she good for besides blowing stuff up? Well, he's good for tactical battlefield control, some buffing, mind control, getting the party out of trouble, creating undead... |
| Visigo7h07-11-07, 03:48 PM | Your fighter is so stupid, he took toughness six times. I know a player whose fighter did that, wasn’t much good at anything other then being a meat shield, but he was a good meat shield with his 18 extra HP. And as for what good is he, it goes to role-playing fun, he could be convinced he is a wizard (works best if he is half orc) and take Exotic Weapon proficiency spellbook, and hit people with it well yelling "MAGIC HURTS!!" |
| WizO_Sith07-13-07, 07:04 AM | I think this thread has pretty much run whatever course there was to run with it. *Click* |
