Dwarf with celestial blood( think Aasimar). [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-06-07, 01:05 PM Now, im interested in this kind of a race, did anyone toy arround with theese, or maybe it actualy exists in some book?

My reasoning is this: Aasimar are half human half celestial, so im looking for a mix between a dwarf and a celestial( favored class paladin) any ideas?

08-06-07, 02:38 PM The easiest and most official ways would be to make a half-celestial dwarf, or to use the celestial heritage sorceror feats (From PHBII, I think), or some levels in the celestial bloodline (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/bloodlines.htm#celestial), using the Dream Dwarf (from Races of Stone) or Gold Dwarf (MM) or just make it a roleplaying aspect with no mechanical weight. Certainly, those all seem better (i.e., easier, more official, better balanced) than making up a new race.

08-06-07, 03:00 PM Aasimar are moreso 1/8 Celestial, if not less.

If you want an aasimarish dwarf, then I'd just turn the Aasimar race into a template and apply it to the dwarf. The planetouched are all pretty underpowered.

08-06-07, 04:18 PM There was a Dragon issue, about 3months-1/2 a year ago that featured demi-human based planetouched. Of those presented in that issue was "Azerblooded" which are Azer-Dwarf combinations similiar to what Aasimars are to Humans and Celestials.

Personally I think these are more racial appropriate than some form of Celestial based plane touched for Dwarves. Being a race tied to closely to the forge it just makes sense that there would be more of a bond between Dwarves and Fire (or Earth, but thats a different story)

08-06-07, 10:15 PM Fiend folio has the maeluth (sp?), which is essentially a tiefling dwarf variant. I suppose you could just switch the abilities around.:)

08-08-07, 03:55 AM why would dwarves be ugly :D i personaly think dwarves look pretty cool, and i never got that -2 cha racial, seems out of place for me, however the template to be added would naturally negate that penalty to cha, i was thinking of merging the current aasimar with the dwarf.. so the racials would be

+2con +2wis ( +2cha -2cha) Im thinking that would be appropriate, as for abilities, no way im giving them the daylight ability, maybe something like this:

improves darkvision to 120ft, and gains low-light vision ( 4x human) <-- Nice bonuses, but not overly OP

favored class: cleric/paladin
