05-28-07, 02:51 PM My DM and I have been having a minor arguement over the exact method(s) of Elan reproduction. Would anyone like to clarify for me?

05-29-07, 12:50 AM That was the thought. My DM was sugesting that it was indicating that they could produce fully grown humans and THEN change them. Anyone else get that from the entry?

Soooo, you haven't actually read it then. As was stated, RTFM. If the DM won't let you read his books, buy your own. If he will let you read the books, then do so before posting, especially when people here indicate that the answers are clearly stated in the book. Really.

There are countless intricacies deeply buried in the D&D system that require intelligent discourse, thoughful discussion and mindless bickering. This is not one of them.

05-29-07, 01:06 AM I have owned the book for years. I have read it. I was asking for clarification, not on my behalf, but on that of my DM, who I belive to be confused. I felt it better to ask for a second opinion than to argue with him.

05-29-07, 04:10 AM To be specific, your DM is correct if I read your post correctly. A fully grown human is found and then evaluated by the existing Elan and if selected are made into Elan. In the first paragraph about Elan in the Expanded Psionics Handbook, it stated that they, "are usually fully formed human adults." They do not reproduce through sexual reproduction in any way but instead cull willing members from the human collective. Its really like considering Liches to be a race if they were to spread the Lich ritual to propigate themselves.

Perhaps there are nuances to your question that I'm not aware of and that aren't answered in the paragraph so if this doesn't answer your question, you might elaborate more on your interpertation of the Elan.

But if he means produce as in "create" a fully grown human, then no, they don't do that.
