Anyway, the closest conceptually I've found so far is the Water Element Creature template from Manual of the Planes, but I've run across a problem: The water version sucks! Seriously, all it gains that the others don't is a swim speed and a major penalty for ever leaving the water. The air element gets 100ft fly speed with perfect maneuverability, and +6 Dex; the earth gets +3 natural armor, burrowing and a +1 bonus to attacks practically all the time; and the fire gets bonus damage when it hits and when it's hit, plus it catches its enemies on fire in either of those cases. Anyway, I'm kind of hoping this was an oversight and that it's fixed somewhere, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll probably just end up making all my own stuff for this creature . . . One thing I might do is to take the Vardigg's (Water Grue from Complete Arcane) ability Water Jet and give it to the creature, although it would be cooler if instead of shooting a jet of water, it actually turned itself into the jet of water and fired itself. Oh, and in case you were wondering (and not immediately familiar with the element creature template), all the elements have the same CR adjustment, despite the mentioned disparity in power. ~ fissionessence |
