Elven Reverie, Gnomish Origin [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-30-07, 06:42 PM I been puzzeling over these and a couple other questions; ahd while I have had some ideas myslef, I wish to see what I can get out of the community.

Is Elven reverie (medative rest) inherent, or do young elves train at it? Do baby elves sleep?

The Player's Handbook states that Garl Glittergold found the gnomes (not made) and lead them into the world. Have there ever been any embellishments on this? Or contradictions?

Why do dwarves get an attack bonus vs. giants?

I'd assume it's inherent, it says outright elves do not sleep.

Not that I'm aware of.

Why do dwarves get an attack bonus vs. giants?

They don't. They get a dodge AC bonus against them because they often have to battle giants in the mountains to protect/gain new territory. (most likely "stupid" giants such as hill giants and ogres).

My mistake.
Still, I had always pictured dwarves living under the ground, inside the mountains, whereas the giants would be living on the mountains, only living in surface caves.
Thus, limited conflict.

05-01-07, 09:18 AM Dwarves may like to live underground, but they'd still need a presence on the surface. They need to either grow food, or go and trade for it. They also need wood, livestock and textiles that they can't get underground.

05-02-07, 11:01 PM Not bacon, Onions. More nutritious, and when your whole society eats nothing but onions, it contributes to typical drow and duegar antisocial behaviour.
